Multiple sources have claimed that the Duchess of Sussex picked this friend, who helped her settle in UK, as a godmother to her son.
Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan Markle, 38, have closely guarded their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, from the media and public. They even broke protocol when they chose to not reveal the names of the godmothers and godfathers of the royal baby.
Prince William's son Prince George and daughter Princess Charlotte have seven and five godparents each respectively, reports Popsugar. They hadn't kept the names of those they picked to be the godparents under wraps. Neither did they withhold photos of the christening, both of which the Sussexes have done, which has disgruntled the people.
You never gonna break Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex. She is one strong lady. She's about women supporting & uplifting each other. And I'm about that too. Nothing more beautiful than us women having each other's back. Meghan, I have your back. ✊🏽#MeghanMarkle pic.twitter.com/WBsv0hlO0Z— Katrina 🕊️🌸🛡️ (@dazzlegal) September 12, 2019
There has been a lot of speculation about who the godparents of the latest royal baby, Archie, are. Meghan has multiple celebrity friends as she was an actress in Hollywood and they have been rumored to be given the honor of being Archie's godparents. It was rumored that tennis star Serena Williams or chat show host Oprah Winfrey was one of the godmothers. However, until now there was no confirmation from the family and there still isn't as they are very tight-lipped about it. Though, a royal commentator has claimed to be aware of at least one of the names, according to Express UK.

One of the godmothers revealed by the royal commentator Katie Nicholl is a not-very-high-profile individual. In a tweet, she said on September 12, "Archie’s godmother and Meghan’s great friend Isabel May was there to support the launch of #SmartSet for @SmartWorksHQ today. Meghan looked sharp, spoke confidently without notes and is clearly passionate about this latest project."

Nicholl, who attended the launch of Meghan’s charity womenswear collection, said that she saw Archie’s godmother at the event. "I was there at the launch and spotted in the audience Isabel May. Who is, in fact, Archie’s Godmother although that’s been kept very, very quiet. She’s a great friend of the Duchess’ and of course she would have known all about this launch. And Misha Nonoo had a front-row seat," she said.
May, 40, is the former director of communications for Burberry who became a close friend to Meghan Markle after she moved to the UK two years ago. They were introduced by mutual friend and Soho House director, Markus Anderson, according to Express UK. Anderson was also the person who arranged Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's first date, according to MSN. She was called Archie's godmother by Vanity Fair after the clothing collection launch, which was also the event that brought Meghan Markle out of maternity leave.
Is PR guru Isabel May Archie's godmother? Meghan Markle's US pal who works for David Beckham was chosen for role after helping Duchess settle into life in the UK - and attended her charity fashion launch yesterday https://t.co/u70ReLvEDh— Carla Digrugilliers (@CDigrugilliers) September 17, 2019
The palace hasn't confirmed if May is one of the godmothers. May is a US PR guru who lives in West London and attended their wedding last May. She sat in the second row on the bride’s side – in front of Serena Williams, Oprah Winfrey and the Clooneys.
A source told the Mail On Sunday, "Izzy is one of Meghan’s dearest and closest friends and she values her friendship so very much. Izzy keeps their relationship really quiet and very much under the radar. The time they spend together is private. She helped Meghan adjust to life in London when she moved here from Canada. Meghan relied on her a lot. They are just like any two young female friends. They totally support one another and enjoy lots of social activities together."
