The 30-year-old woman from Moreton, Wirral, was supposed to fly home on Monday, May 15, but instead suffered this incredible tragedy and was sent to the hospital. Her family was informed by the doctors that she had brain and heart inflammation, Manchester Evening News reported. On May 24, Melissa was taken back home by air ambulance before being sent immediately to Arrowe Park Hospital. Melissa tragically passed away on May 26.

"She lived for her girls, she was hardworking, had a dirty laugh and she was such a good mummy. She had so much love for those girls. She was very hard working doing beauty and hair, she was a little whiz kid with the colors," her mother shared of her.

Her mother claimed she felt her move when Melissa's father came to visit. "When her dad came in the room the next day she moved, and I went to kiss her on the head and she moved again. Her dad made them run all of the tests again with him in the room, but they said they were involuntary movements," she shared.

She had been on vacation with 16 members of her family when she passed out at the airport. When the family learned the mother-of-three was "clinically dead" following medical examinations, Melissa's mom revealed they were "shell-shocked" and inconsolable, she told the BBC. "We are heartbroken and devastated. Our lives will never be the same again... we are shattered."

For her care in the Turkish hospital, which cost $2,250 per day, and for an air ambulance to take her home, her friend set up a GoFundMe page. Kinsella was flown back to the UK on May 24 as a result of the more than $62,650 in donations to the fundraiser. "After 12 days of fighting for our beautiful daughter's life, test[s] prove she is clinically dead. We have no words to express how we feel but thank everyone who helped us in any way to bring her home."
