Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher met when she was just 14 and he was 19! Back as teens, they had no idea that they would end up together and  become parents of two lovely children.

While their marriage is almost five years old, their history dates back 20 years. The couple played the hapless lovers Jackie Burkhart and Michael Kelso on That '70s Show in the late '90s. However, back then they couldn't have been less interested in each other.

They were platonic off-screen pals, but Kunis reveals it is a story that no one believes. Given their current chemistry, we can't really blame their fans.

According to Today, Kunis explained to comedian Marc Maron on his WTF podcast, "Yep, in the show (we kissed), with no feelings whatsoever. It's the weirdest story that nobody believes, but it's the God's honest truth. There was nothing there, and it was like ... whatever."

However, the Black Swan actress regrets not having shared anything more than just friendship with Kutcher back then. "We could have spent 20 years together."

However, she believes that the time they spent apart and the experiences they had individually made them the people they fell in love with.

"We would have never been together if we didn't both go through what we went through in order to be the people that we were when we reconnected," she insisted.

After the show, they parted ways and didn't think much about when they would meet again. Her romance with actor Macaulay Culkin and Kutcher's marriage to Demi Moore—played a role in how they began to value each other.

As they were dealing with the ups and downs of their lives, she recalls how destiny played a role in bringing them together. "We were at an awards show, and I was backstage. I was like looking around, and there was like a really beautiful man from the back. I was like, 'What a very nice stature of a gentleman.' I was literally, like, 'Ooh, he's kind of hot.' I was single. And then he turned around, and I was like, 'Oh, my god! It's Kutch!' I thought it was the weirdest thing that I was checking this guy out, and it was somebody I'd known forever."

And this time around, they became even closer friends, but Kunis realized that there was something more than just friendship between them. "I walked up to him and I was like, 'You know what? I actually care about you, and I don't wanna mess anything up, so I'm just going to walk away before it becomes too much,'" she recalled. "And he was like, 'Got it.'"

"The next day he showed up to my house, and he was like, 'Move in with me,'" she went on. Her reply was a simple "OK."

In 2015 the couple exchanged vows, dropping major relationship goals at every milestone. Their love-laden interviews about one another can inspire even the cynics to trust in love again. In a 2017 interview with E!Online, she said, "My husband does not annoy me. He really doesn't. I don't know if this happens later, we've only been married a handful of years." For now, she noted, "It's very much in the honeymoon phase of things. We still really love and like each other daily."

In another interview with the E!Online, Kunis gushed about how lucky she is to have Kutcher as her husband. "I have the world's greatest husband," The Spy Who Dumped Me actress gushed. "I swear, I got very lucky, man."

But things weren't always smooth and easy as they make it seem. After his divorce from his first wife Demi Moore, Kutcher was devastated. Even after the divorce, rumors and allegations from the past kept bothering him it was Kunis that helped him take his mind off the mess and urged him to become more positive.

In fact, when Moore decided to go all out in her memoir Inside Out, she wrote about alleged affairs and other things that painted an ugly picture of Kutcher.

"I was about to push the button on a really snarky tweet," according to E!Online. "Then I saw my son, daughter, and wife and I deleted it." Instead, they went to Disneyland and did their best to put it out of their minds.

They had welcomed their daughter Wyatt Isabelle in 2014 and son Dimitri in 2016 and, right now, the family is in the happiest phase of their lives. The couple that met as teens has now gone on to become an inspirational Hollywood love story.

Kunis sums it up well, "We started dating with the idea that we both were never going to get married. If we just paid attention to these movies, we should know that s--t like this does not work out in real life, well, we clearly didn't pay attention."
