Ashton Kutcher was about to get involved in a murky and public feud with ex-wife Demi Moore but held himself back because of his family.
How would you feel if your partner's ex-wife or husband released explicit details about their bygone relationship which paints a very ugly picture of your partner? It would shake the very foundation of your relationship, many might confess. But a couple that has truly grown together in their relationship and knows the in and out of each other could not only sail through the storm but also support one another through it.
Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are known to be deeply in love and a committed couple. Moreover, they seem to be fiercely honest with each other which has helped them face one of the biggest challenges in their relationship so far.
When Demi Moore tied the knot with 15 years younger Ashton Kutcher back in 2005, it gave unconventional lovers hope and courage to stand by their romance, no matter what. But soon their admirers were heartbroken when the fiery couple parted ways in 2013 in a much-publicized separation. Both Kutcher and Moore moved on with their lives and forgot about the past, except, one of them didn't.
In September 2019 Demi Moore published a bombshell, tell-all memoir of her life called Inside Out where she apparently exposed Kutcher's inconsiderate and disloyal behavior in their marriage.
According to E! News, in various chapters of Inside Out, Moore writes about having threesomes with her then-husband. She also claims Kutcher cheated on her during the relationship. She goes on to reveal that he had a very insensitive approach to her self-worth and alcohol problems.
When the book came out, Kutcher was married to Kunis and had a lovely family with two children Isabella and Dimitri. His family is one of the biggest reasons the actor and tech entrepreneur did not involve in a public feud with Moore.
"I was about to push the button on a really snarky tweet," he said, according to E! News. "Then I saw my son, daughter, and wife, and I deleted it." Instead, they went to Disneyland and did their best to put it out of their minds. This clarifies that the couple was focussing on strengthening their bond when they were faced with a big relationship challenge. And this probably wouldn't have been possible if Kunis was not ready to protect their relationship. She knew what she was doing and she went for it. In fact, she did a fabulous job turning a hostile time into a favorable one.
“Nothing came out in this book that Mila did not already know,” an insider said to PEOPLE at the time. “There was no shock, there was no surprise. Did Ashton love the book? No, of course not. Did it impact their marriage at all? No, of course not.”
As per E! News, Kunis was more than supportive of her man and helped him take his mind off the chaos. "Mila is very supportive and understanding. It was a different time in Ashton's life and feels like a lifetime ago for all of them," our source shared. "They have moved on from all of that and have a completely different life now with their kids and family."
However, according to Mercury News, Kunis was not happy about Moore washing "dirty laundry" out in the open, but the couple chose to maintain a dignified silence and moved on with life.
The source continued, “Ashton has never spoken about her. He hasn’t talked about her since the divorce, and he never will. He respects that she’s a mother with a family.”
Another source said that the couple was focussing on having a quality family time then focus on Moore's book.
“Mila and Ashton are very much in love and have a strong and committed relationship,” an insider close to Kunis told PEOPLE. “Neither is in favor of adverse publicity, but the book and Demi’s TV promotions didn’t do anything to shake their strong bond and love for each other and their children.”
Kunis may not have been directly associated with this chaos but she was definitely the one who made sure she held herself and her family together when horrors from her husband's past came crashing upon them. She sums it up well, "We started dating with the idea that we both were never going to get married. If we just paid attention to these movies, we should know that s--t like this does not work out in real life, well, we clearly didn't pay attention."
