Mom Shot Dead While Visiting Son’s Grave on His Birthday | ‘Those Bullets Took a Precious Gem From Us’

Yolanda N'Gaojia was visiting her son Amir's grave at the Calvary Baptist Church Garden of Memories Cemetery in Killeen, Texas, to mark what would have been his 22nd birth anniversary, on March 22, 2022, the cops said in a statement

While the mother was grieving the loss of her son who died on New Year's Day earlier this year, she was fatally shot around 5 pm the same day, said Yolanda's ex-husband, Kineh N'Gaojia, while speaking to KWTX

Amir was one of three children that Yolanda, 52, and Kineh shared. 

"I have no words because I can’t believe this is real. This is stuff you see on movies but it has become our life. I can’t believe you are gone Yolanda N'Gaojia how y’all gonna kill her on her Son birthday at his gravesite??? We just lost Amir on New Year’s Day plus our kids was on FaceTime watching their Mom get gunned down…..GOD.., Help please#LLA#RipYolie," a distraught Kineh shared on Facebook

"My children will never be the same again," Kineh wrote in another Facebook post, alongside a photograph of Yolanda and Amir.

In a third post, the father wrote: "Yolanda N'Gaojia, We always said whoever go first will hold the other one down. Well, don’t worry I’m gonna hold us down. Q Jones NGaojia and Sierra Simone already know I will give them my last breathe."

"Rest well those bullets took a precious gem from us but gave us an Amazing Angel to guide us so you know we ain’t going nowhere but up cause we know how hard you rode for your family. Thank you for making our lives complete we gonna miss you Soldier. WE LOVE YOU. Kiss Amir for me and tell him how much I/we love and miss him. #RipYolie#LLA#RiplilJames."

A GoFundMe has been set up by daughter Sierra to raise funds for her funeral and other expenses. The description on it reads: "I truly appreciate all the love and support my family and I are receiving."

"It’s heartwarming to know how much of an impact my mom left on a lot of people, her legacy will continue. We will never ever let her, or my brother’s name be forgotten. Thank you all so much."

Meanwhile, images captured at the scene show a bullet-riddled, late-model Chevrolet Camaro taped off with yellow police tape. However, police have not officially confirmed the victim’s name. No information regarding a suspect or suspects is currently available.

Investigation into Yolanda's death is still ongoing, and the Killeen Police Department is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 254-526-TIPS (8477).
