While her ex-husband visited her twice when she was in the hospital, her mother didn't visit her even once.
Circumstances shape people. While some are born with a silver spoon, others usually work their way up to reach their goals.
And there are those who try to steal others' lives to make their own. Kamylla de Melo, a young woman who woke up from her death bed, was in for a shock after she realized how her life was stolen by her own mother, reported The Mirror.
Kamylla from Pernambuco, Brazil, was battling for her life in the intensive care when her husband and mother went behind her back and had a secret affair. Unaware of this fact when she was discharged from the hospital after 78 days, she discovered the betrayal in the most unexpected way. Not only did they have an affair but they got married as well.
Talking about her traumatic experience growing up with her narcissistic mother to a Brazilian news outlet noamazonaseassim, she said, “As a teenager, my mother first started to compete with me. She was only 20 years older than me and said that my clothes were better suited to her, that her food was better. Nothing I did was good enough."
She continued, “When I was 25, I fell in love with a boy ten years older than me. We got married in August 2013 and, the following year, our now six-year-old son was born from a complicated pregnancy."
She then revealed about the time she went in for bariatric surgery when the whole ordeal began. She said, “At the end of 2017, I needed to have bariatric surgery. The idea was not to lose weight but to take care of my hormonal rates. After operating, I had a stroke and needed to be hospitalized again."
Giving details about the time when her mum and husband began their secret affair, she revealed, "During this period, my mother - I swear I can't call her a mother anymore - went to my house to help my husband take care of my son who at the time, was 4 years old. My father had stayed in the interior of Pernambuco with my younger brother."
“Only later did I learn that in the four months I spent in the hospital, much of the time between life and death, my ex had only visited me twice and my mother, none," she added.
When her father came to help her out of the hospital back on March 22, 2018, he gave her the sad news. She described it as the "worst pain of my life. And it wasn't physical." She added, "Without much ado, my father, who had already taken my son, said that his wife and my husband were having an affair. It looked like he was being stabbed in the chest, a mixture of disappointment and disbelief."
She couldn't believe what she had heard and wanted to hear it from her mother. So she did what she thought was the right thing. "I called my mother," she said and continued, "Very nervous, I said that I had left the hospital, that I was alive and asked if it was true that they were together. The answer? That yes, together and very happy. I couldn't believe what I heard."
In the interview, it was revealed that the couple is married and is following a court order where Kamylla’s son can meet his father and grandmom on a weekly basis. “My son stays with his father two or three times a week, by court order. It is not easy, but I am obliged to allow my little one to live with this toxic and harmful relationship," she said.
Not only was Kamylla’s mother not bothered about the damage she's caused her daughter on an emotional level, but she's also not shy of flaunting her relationship with her son-in-law, who's now her husband.
Kamylla said, “I recently learned that my mother is keen to celebrate their relationship anniversary on March 2, without even disguising that she started going out with my then-husband while I was in the hospital."
After going through an emotional downhill from the day she found out about the double betrayal, the daughter has had to find ways to heal her heart. Having grown up with a toxic mom who constantly belittled her and then stole her husband and father of her child, she finally focused on finding true happiness within herself. And when she did that, she found love again. Talking about her new relationship, she said, “Almost two years after I separated, I found a nice guy and started dating. We have been together for 10 months, in a respectful and ethical relationship. I have a beautiful and close family, my father is loving and my son is perfect.”
