According to the cops, the fight began when Anders refused to let Carissa take their kids to church.
A man from Minnesota has been arrested for brutally beating his ex-wife in front of their five young children, resulting in her unfortunate death.
Anders Odegaard, 31, has been charged with the second-degree murder of his former wife, Carissa Odegaard, according to PEOPLE. Currently, he is being held on a $2.5 million bond.
According to court documents obtained by KLTV News, two young lads reportedly flagged down a man in Warren, Minnesota on August 23, 2022, and asked him to call 911 because their mother was "bleeding really bad and needed help." The man immediately complied and called for help.
According to the documents, Odegaard was found with blood on his face and hair and was only wearing a pair of boxer briefs when the deputy entered his home. He then allegedly told the officer, "I don't feel right."
Almost immediately, the deputy saw 31-year-old Carissa Odegaard lying in the doorway in a pool of blood. She was rushed to the hospital and emergency care was administered, but she succumbed to her injuries on August 24, 2022.

The documents claim that three brothers—ages 9, 8, and 2—were inside the house during the attack. Two other siblings were in their mom's car and did not see the attack.
Apparently, the nine-year-old told officers that he believed his father had beaten his mother with either a knife or spatula. However, the eight-year-old allegedly said that their father had beaten their mom to the floor and was "on top of her choking her." The documents also allege that the couple's two-year-old child was too "traumatized" to respond to authorities' questions.
According to the cops, the fight began when Anders refused to let Carissa take their kids to church. It was also reported that Anders Odegaard works as an attorney. According to the Minnesota Bar, his license was valid and there were no complaints against him before the shocking incident.
A GoFundMe has been created on behalf of Carissa, to raise funds for her funeral by a friend. "This horrible tragedy will not be lost on our community. Carissa’s mom friends, community, and family will miss her dearly and hope this will help to honor her name."

"I am a friend of Carissa’s and will be depositing all of the fundraised money into the bank account that was set up for the children," the description on the fundraiser reads.
Meanwhile, Anders has not yet posted a bond. He has not yet entered a plea and court documents do not show an attorney authorized to speak on his behalf.
