She was driving when a truck crashed into her vehicle, leading to her immediate death.
A mother-of-two was killed in a car crash during the weekend in North Carolina. Sunshine Nichole William was driving down U.S. Route 29. A Chevrolet Silverado crashed into her car on Saturday afternoon, after the driver, Joshua Nicholas Anderson, lost control and drove the car through the meridian, reports PEOPLE. The 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. Her brother, John, who is a person with disabilities was also in the car with her. According to their mother, the victim's brother John was riding along with her. He was taken to the hospital, according to the authorities, with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening. His mother claims he has multiple fractured bones, but he will recover, reports WGHP.
William has two children, Malakia, who will turn one in December, and Kaylee, who is two years old. She chose to stay at home with her kids while working for UberEats and DoorDash to supplement her income. She was going for delivery during the time of the accident. According to her mother, she would have turned 22 in a couple of days. Anderson, who is from Archdale, can face charges, according to Charlotte Observer.
Teresa Lane, William's mother, has created a GoFundMe campaign for the funeral expenses of her daughter. She wrote on the campaign page, "This fundraiser is for funeral expenses for my daughter, she was killed in a collision when the driver flipped over the median onto her car on the other side of the interstate." She added, "She left behind a 1-year-old and an 8-month-old and a devastated husband who needs help. She would have been 22 on the 23rd of this month. Please help us bury my baby."
Williams is being remembered by her loved ones on social media. One person said, "Sweet Sunshine Nichole Williams you were taken way too soon, I've seen you become such a beautiful mother and wife. Your friendship was truly a blessing. Heaven gained an angel."
Another person wished her on her birthday and wrote, "Can’t even believe this is happening again so soon. Sunshine Nichole Williams Happy almost birthday sweet angel. You were an incredible daughter, sister, friend, wife, and mother. My heart is broken for your family, especially those babies .. we love you forever."
Williams' husband, Drake Williams, announced on Tuesday that a memorial service will be conducted for her on Thursday. He wrote on Facebook, "I ask that clothing be respectable and formal, dark or bright colors. I know she wouldn't want a room full of darkness when she's literally the embodiment of light."
