The anti-slavery group tried to explain to the mother about the dangers she would be exposing her baby to, but she ignored it all for the sake of money.
When a baby is born, the parents' entire being is overpowered by the feeling of joy along with bits of concern because it's now their responsibility to take care of this tiny human. There isn't much that can measure up to the happiness of becoming a parent.
The 25-year-old woman in this story might disagree because she thought a pair of boots was worth more than her baby girl. According to The Sun, Luiza Gadzhieva put up an advertisement in the Russian black market saying that her daughter was up for adoption but with a price tag.
Yes, you read that right. Luiza began her search for parents who were ready to adopt her baby girl at a good price just days after she was born. The advertisements seemed to work because soon the mother started getting calls from potential parents who were interested in the offer.

One such responder replied to Luiza and proposed to pay a little over $3900 (Β£3,000) for the one-week-old baby. She agreed to the price and began setting up a plan to hand over the baby. The mother-of-three told the responders to come to a coffee shop in Moscow to complete the transaction.
What she thought would be a simple give and take business, turned out to be something she hadn't planned for. Her clients were law enforcement officers who had posed as potential buyers after they came across her advertisement. The whole thing was a sting operation to catch the heartless woman in the act, reported The Mirror.
As soon as Luiza wrote the receipt and handed over the little one, she was detained by the detectives for further questioning. They ensured that the baby reached safe hands, away from her own mother's greedy ones.
It was later revealed that Luiza's sister knew about the plan as she had discussed it with her. All of this was for a pair of boots. The woman wanted to buy new boots that she had her eyes on for a long time, but money was creating a hindrance. She planned on using the amount that she would get after the completion of the transaction to make the purchase.

Members of an anti-slavery group called Alternativa had also contacted Luiza in the hopes of making her understand the consequences of the horrible act. They told her about the things that her little one would have to suffer after she's sold off in the black market, but in vain. Luiza, who was adamant about buying the boots, dismissed all of their concerns and went ahead with the plan.
Giving details, the group said, "We tried in every possible way to explain to her that bad, dangerous conditions awaited the child."
The woman even told one of the buyers that she was making this cruel deal to purchase a house. She said that she wanted to use the money to pay the deposit. Luiza reportedly told the buyer, "Don't say 'to sell,' it sounds rude," and added, "You can judge me but I cannot [cope]."

"The height of cynicism was her correspondence with her sister, who knew about everything, and in which the child's mother discussed what boots she will buy for herself after selling the baby," said a spokesperson for Alternativa. The spokesperson added, "It is not known what would have happened to this child."
In a statement, the Russian Investigate Committee revealed that the mother could not proceed with her evil plan as the baby was rescued in time. The statement said, "After receiving the money, she handed the child over to the customer and wrote a receipt. During the interrogation, the woman pleaded guilty in full and was charged. Currently, the child's life is not in danger. The criminal investigation continues."
