Julie and her husband Todd Chrisley were sentenced in federal court in November 2022 and are currently serving their time.
Nanny Faye joined her granddaughter Savannah Chrisley on the latest episode of her Unlocked podcast to talk about daughter-in-law Julie Chrisley's absence and how it is taking a toll on her famous family.
Reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley were sentenced in federal court in November 2022 after being found guilty of conspiracy to defraud banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans back in June. According to CNN, the Chrisley Knows Best couple was also found guilty of multiple tax crimes, including attempting to defraud the Internal Revenue Service. While Todd, 53, was sentenced to 12 years in prison with three years of supervised release, his wife Julie, 49, was sentenced to seven years in prison and three years of supervised release.
The absence of Todd and Julie Chrisley has deeply affected the rest of the family. "If we're being honest about it, everyone knows mom and dad were your primary caregiver," the Growing Up Chrisley star, 25, told her grandmother on her podcast. 79-year-old Faye has been unable to gain access to her son due to documentation issues, reports PEOPLE. "You have to jump through hoops for visitation," explained Savannah.
Faye also got emotional opening up about her daughter-in-law Julie's dedication to her during a series of bladder cancer treatments. She stood by her side through thick and thin. "There wasn't one treatment [for my bladder cancer] where my precious daughter-in-law wasn't with me — not one time," she shared, visibly emotional. "Through it all, she's been with me." But after the couple was sent to prison, soon enough it had been "a month [and] I haven't been where I could go to see her." Savannah added, "It's hard because mom was everyone's primary caregiver."
The pair recalled Julie's caring nature and how she was the glue that tied the family together. "When you needed something, call Julie," continued Nanny Faye. "She'd call me three or four times every day. And by seven o clock, she had called me to see if I was OK and to see if I had a good night," she recalled.
Before going to prison Julie made some revelations about her life and state of mind while chatting with her husband Todd Chrisley for their family’s podcast episode Chrisley Confessions in December. "I have been reading and praying and praying with my prayer partner and believing that the journey that we're all on, there is a reason behind it. There is a purpose," the 49-year-old TV personality shared at the time.
