The power couple has been married since December 1, 2018 and make sure they spend as much time together as possible despite busy schedules.
Marriage is forever, according to Jonas Brothers singer Nick Jonas, who got married to Indian actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas in 2018. The power couple recently celebrated their first anniversary with Priyanka gifting Nick a puppy. But he revealed that the Quantico star has given him something more, something that he will forever hold close to his heart and would be devastated if he lost it.
Answering GQ magazine's questions about what are the 10 things in life he can't live without, which include his cellphone, Nick said that he tries to live without ever needing anything. The things he mentioned that were important to him could be replaced or given away without him being crushed. However, the one thing the loss of which would crush him is his wedding ring, gifted to him by his wife, Priyanka.
The 27-year-old said that the simple wedding band he wears "represents the greatest achievement of my life, which is finding someone that I love, care about deeply, and wanna spend my life with." Then, he joked saying, "For those of you who don't know what a wedding ring means. It's the ring you get on your wedding day. I am glad I could help you understand that. Hopefully, you'll get one of these one day too, if that's what you want. If not, no pressure."
The Sucker singer is busy promoting his new movie Jumanji, and his wife is making sure she can do everything to help him. She has been a supportive partner right from the start. The couple, which got married on December 1, 2018, make sure that they are there for each other and are making their marriage work despite busy schedules.
"I think that we both obviously look out for each other in every way that we can. And I think as we’re continuing to navigate married life together, we’re figuring out exactly what and how we can be the best support for each other. And so far, it’s been amazing and having that partner, that life partner, is just an incredible thing and makes everything way better. So, I’m just hopeful that I can continue to be a good partner to her and whether that’s emotional or physical health, I want to be that teammate in everything," he told HuffPost.
Meanwhile, Priyanka, who continues to work in India and make films there, shared the one rule that is making their relationship work with a local newspaper, Hindustan Times. "Nick and I don’t go beyond two-three weeks without seeing each other. Wherever in the world we are, we keep in touch, and video call all the time! It’s important to make the effort to have the other person involved in your life. We do that," she said.
While marriage is hard work even for a normal couple, for one with a schedule so busy, it could be harder unless both partners understand each other's needs, and this celebrity couple seems to be on the same page.
“It’s tough, but I’m glad I’m married to someone who understands my ambition and drive. It’s the thing he fell in love with me for, that’s what he says! For both of us, our professional lives are very, very important. We both come from a non-entitled background; our careers were not given to us. We both have worked damn hard to be where we are and have had a two-decade-long career each. We know what it takes to do what we do, and support each other," she said.
