"I had a very Catholic grandmother, and I was raised praying, so that had massive impact."

Nicole Kidman is a firm believer in God; she regularly goes to church and even makes sure her children follow in her religious footsteps, even though she has been made fun of by her pals.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Kidman revealed that she has often been "teased" by her friends for her choices. "A lot of my friends tease me.”
Nicole Kidman, her husband, Keith Urban, and their children—10-year-old Sunday Rose and 8-year-old Faith Margaret—regularly go to church. “That’s how we are raising our children. Keith has his own beliefs but he comes, too. I had a very Catholic grandmother, and I was raised praying, so that had massive impact. I wouldn’t say it’s absolutism, there’s constant questioning—I’m a willful, feisty girl. For me it’s very important that I don’t have judgment. My dad would always say, ‘Tolerance is the most important thing.’”
In 2018, during an interview with Allure, Kidman spoke about just how religious she is, admitting that she wanted to become a nun before she made a name for herself in the movies.
"I'm spiritual in that I absolutely believe in God," she said. "I loved the idea of being a nun. Obviously, I did not choose to go that path, but I was very drawn to it."
In fact, she rarely leaves her home leaves home without her diamond-studded crucifix, which was given to her by her grandmother.
"Catholicism guides me. I certainly have a strong belief. I try to go to church regularly, and I try to go to confession," Kidman has said in the past, adding that "a big part of me is still a Catholic girl," according to Honey.
While the Australian actor is now in a happy place, her past was tumultuous, leaving her broken. She got married to Tom Cruise in 1990 after a whirlwind romance. Unfortunately, their marriage did not last, and it eventually led to their divorce in 2000.
She also spoke of her undying love for her children—Isabella, 30, and Connor, 28—whom she and Cruise adopted while they were married. Kidman admitted to growing estranged from her children when they joined Scientology and followed in their father's footsteps. However, in an interview with Who Magazine in Australia, she stated that she wants to keep her relationship with her children discreet, reports Fox News.
But she said that she will always be there for them. “They are adults. They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and, as a mother, it’s my job to love them,” she explained.
Kidman learned a lot after her separation from Cruise, so when she met Keith Urban, she was older, wiser, and a lot more in control of her life. Surely there have been ups and downs in her marriage to Urban, but the two of them have made it work and are a picture-perfect family. Cheers to a mended heart, lots of love, and a happily married life and family.
