Since Janelle's health began to deteriorate last year, Nicole Kidman has been making longer trips to visit her mother.
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban made sure to spend the holidays together. Making it a family affair, the Oscar-winner and her country music star husband, walked to the airport while Sunday, 14, and Faith, 12, joined them in a rare public appearance on Saturday, December 17. Keith matched Nicole's casually stylish ensemble of a baseball cap and a dark overcoat, keeping a low profile, Hollywood Life reports.
Nicole and her husband have made plans to celebrate Christmas with their families as it approaches. Just a few hours after they got off from the airport, the couple appeared at Nicole's mother's Sydney house. Nicole and Keith were seen holding hands as they approached the residence. When they arrived at her mother, Janelle Kidman's house, the long-married pair took a brief break for the cameras. After completing filming for Nicole's next series in Hong Kong, the couple visited Nicole's mother on their visit to Sydney for the holidays.
Since Janelle's health began to deteriorate last year, Nicole has been making longer trips to visit her mother. The actress remarked during an interview on the Fresh Air podcast, per Yahoo News, that she had enjoyed spending time with her mother. “We're down here primarily to take care of my mother and to have her surrounded by her grandchildren,” Nicole told host Terry Gross. “So luckily yesterday, even though Omicron is raging through this country, we were able to take her into the gallery after hours and show her the Matisse exhibit, which coming from a mother who's raised me in the arts, was a soothing balm. Matisse was soothing balm last night.”
Nicole expressed her gratitude for having the opportunity to view the world from her mother's viewpoint. “I'm at the place where I'm being given the chance to view the world, because of how close we are, my mum is giving me the chance to view the world through an 81-year-old woman's eyes,” she detailed, saying she feels this time is extremely beneficial for the two. “That is so beneficial right now because she's so cognizant. She has every brain faculty available, so she hasn't lost anything. She hasn't lost any memory, which is fascinating, and she's extremely bright. She's giving me access because she's also very direct and very honest, and so I'm getting access to the world through her eyes, my mother's eyes, so, therefore, a part of me almost at 80… I’m drinking it in and learning.”
Kidman is also grateful for her loving and supportive spouse, Keith Urban, who recently resigned as a judge on the reality TV show The Voice so that he could spend more time with his family in response to worries for Nicole Kidman's ailing mother. Both Urban and his wife, Nicole Kidman, have chosen to temporarily scale back their professions in order to spend more time with their young children and ailing mothers.
