Lyla Aranya Wilson was born in 2018 and her father has reportedly not met her since then. He is as absent with her as he is present with his sons.
Every child hopes that they would have both their parents to take care of them. That they would have a dad to teach them to be self-reliant and strong and a mom who would nurture them with love and care. However, some children aren't that lucky. Sometimes, they only have one parent and sometimes, none at all.
For Lyla Aranya Wilson, 18 months old, her mom is everything because that's the only parent she's got. Her father, the Oscar-nominated actor Owen Wilson, doesn't want anything to do with her as he doubts if she is his. However, the father-of-three is incredibly close to his two sons, 6-year-old Finn and 9-year-old Robert, from past relationships with personal trainer Caroline Lindqvist and Federal Air Marshal Jade Duell respectively.
The 51-year-old actor spent time with his sons during the lockdown and took them to one of the beaches in Malibu, as per Daily Mail. He and his sons didn't wear any face masks while hanging out at the public place, which had been ordered shut by California Governor Newsom to try and stop the spread of the virus. Meanwhile, Lyla spent time with mom, Varunie Vongsvirates, at home. Her mom posted many photos of her cheerful toddler on Instagram.
The Zoolander actor has been urged by his former girlfriend, Vongsvirates, to meet his daughter, whom he financially supports. He sends $25,000 for his daughter's upkeep but still hasn't met his third child, who was born in 2018. "You should see your daughter. She's incredible. You're really missing out. She looks just like you," the 35-year-old woman had reportedly told the funnyman in November.
He has his reservations since he can't be sure that he's the dad. However, a paternity test had confirmed that he was indeed the father. Wilson had been so unreceptive to the news of Vongsvirates' pregnancy that he changed his number when he found out about it. When she told him that she was pregnant, it was the last time that they spoke. However, she had to take the help of the courts to get him involved.
"Lyla needs a father. It's ironic how he keeps getting these father roles...and he's never met his own daughter," his former partner said. He had recently played a dad in the film Wonder, which co-starred Julia Roberts.
Meanwhile, he is an involved father to his sons, with whom he has a great time. The Cars 3 star had appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2017 and revealed how his sons gang up against him.
"It's unbelievable. I mean, anything Ford (he calls Robert by his middle name) says is just, like, the funniest thing ever, and I can make and joke and it's, like, crickets. It's like nothing from those guys... Sometimes it feels more like I'm already seeing how they're going to be as teenagers where they're sort of ganging up on me," he playfully shared with DeGeneres, as per ET. "We went to Sequoia National Park and they have the biggest tree in the world. Ford's like, 'I've seen bigger.' I’m like, ‘Well no, Ford, actually you haven't seen bigger, this is the biggest tree in the world. He's like, 'If you say so.'"

He had previously revealed that he was a disciplinarian with his children. However, that's not how he labels himself. He said that his parenting strategy was "old-fashioned" but he’s not “unreasonably strict."
"Well, they say that the number one thing is to be consistent, and I guess I try to do that a little bit. But, I actually remember [actor Woody Harrelson] saying that a big thing, right before Ford was born is just to hug your kids a lot, and I do do that, which comes very easily because he’s very huggable. And so, it sounds corny, but you can’t hug your kids enough or give them that confidence that they’re loved," said Wilson, as per BreezyMama.
