A man's first father's day was tragic after he and his wife were shot dead over a minor dispute. Though there is no clarity about the real reason, what has been revealed is that the argument began because of a dog, afterwhich three people were shot dead in Hartford, Connecticut.

Out of them, two people were fatally injured, according to PEOPLE

Christina Dang, 27, and Chase Garrett, 39, parents to a 4-month-old baby boy, were reportedly gunned down in the driveway of their residence on June 19, 2022, according to the cops, reports New York Post

While talking to the reporters after the incident, Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin expressed sympathy over the fact that the newborn baby is now an orphan. He also shared that the third person involved in the shooting, whose identity has not been revealed, was still hospitalized in critical condition.

He then spoke about how the "tragic" shooting was part of a bigger problem in Hartford. "Very personal disputes -- minor personal disputes -- escalating with incredible speed into violence, and the presence of guns turns those disputes fatal," Bronin said.

It was also revealed that the cops identified a person of interest in the shooting after their car was found abandoned.

Just hours before Garrett was shot dead, he wrote a heartfelt tribute to his son, thanking him for making him a father. “My first Father’s Day,” he captioned the video of him and his son. “Never thought I would be a Father … but I’ll try and be the best dad I can be … taught me and teaching me so much! My lil Angel … literally,” Garrett added.

The couple had moved to Hartford to raise their son because it was closer to Garrett’s family, Dang's relatives told NBC Connecticut.

“Christina was my baby sister. She was a beautiful soul full of life. She was a mother to a four-month-old Chosen and she lost her life over a senseless argument,” Julie Dang shared. “It’s hard for a child to lose two parents on the same night and on Father’s Day, a day that should be loved and, you know.”

“She just had him in February and she was trying to do better for herself and for her family,” said Dang's cousin, Olivia Anderson.
