What Paul Walker's Mom Said to Vin Diesel the Day After His Death Proves How Strong Women Spread Love Even During Difficult Times

Vin Diesel was inconsolable at the loss of his dearest friend. But the words that Paul's mother said just touched his heart.

November 30, 2019, marked Paul Walker's 5th death anniversary and like always his friend Vin Diesel paid him a touching tribute through a photograph of Paul and himself. We have known them for years now as the badasses of the road and brothers in their own right. They have not only shared the screen together for one of the most famous action franchises, Fast and Furious but also shared their lives as closest friends.

On multiple occasions, Vin has opened up about his struggle to overcome the loss of his "brother." In an old interview with ET, he said, "We’ve felt the loss," he had told Entertainment Tonight. "The last three years have been some of the hardest of my life because of losing my brother like that," reports News 24.

Speaking with Maria Menounos on her radio show, Diesel, who has spearheaded the Fast and Furious in 2001, said, “There wasn’t a day, there wasn’t a scene, there wasn’t a second where I didn’t have Paul with me in the making of this movie. It’s not making the movie without Paul, it’s, ‘What’s life like? What’s living like without Paul?’” reports People.

Paul Walker died in 2013 after his Porsche crashed into a tree. The 46-year-old star also talked about the time he went and hugged Paul's mother the day after the car crash. What his bereaved mother said next will touch anyone's heart. It is a testament of not just the strength of motherhood, but also the empathy a strong woman possesses.

"When I heard, I immediately flew back to California, and went directly from the plane to his mother's house...," E!Online quotes Vin. "I thought they needed my strength, but realized when I got there and broke down before his family, that it was I who needed theirs." He continued, "His mother hugged me and said I am so sorry... I said sorry? You're the mother who lost a son?... She said yes, but you lost your other half..."

He continued, “She was telling me something I wasn’t even aware of. I wasn’t aware of how profound the loss was,” he continued. “You don’t think about it while you’re living, and we’re probably all a little guilty of not telling people how much we love them while they’re here.”

Paul's mom had a bit of profound advice for Vin's mom too, “His mom told my mom, ‘Love your child, just love your child,’” Vin said.

More often than not, Diesel has mourned the loss of his "other half" who was more than his family to him. "To live in the hearts we leave behind, is not to die," the actor quoted Thomas Campbell according to E! Online, in speaking out for the first time about the death of his longtime friend. "Pablo (Paul's nickname), I wish you could see the world right now... and the profound impact, your full life has had on it, on Us... on me...I will always love you Brian, as the brother you were... on and off-screen."
