Though Meadow Walker lost her dad when she was only 15 years old, Vin Diesel— friend and co-star of the late actor— stepped up to make sure Meadow never missed Paul Walker.
Fans of Paul Walker were devastaed when he died on November 30, 2013, in a car crash. His daughter, Meadow Walker, was only 15 when she lost her father, according to PEOPLE.
It's only been eight years since his untimely demise, but Meadow is determined to honor her dad on every occasion she possibly can, most recently by attending the premiere of the ninth installment in the Fast and Furious series, in June.
On September 12, 2021, to mark what would have been Walker's 48th birthday anniversary, the model, 22, posted a sweet childhood throwback photo of the two of them. "Happy birthday daddy, I love you," Meadow wrote in the caption.
Despite losing her dad at such a tender age, Meadow has had someone to count on; her godfather Vin Diesel.
Diesel, 54, has previously said he feels "very protective" of his goddaughter Meadow. He's made sure his family has remained close to her over the years. "She's the first person on Father's Day to wish me Happy Father's Day," he told Extra in June.
"To see her with my children is one of the most beautiful things," Diesel added. "There are moments when I see her playing with Pauline (his 6-year-old daughter) and it hits me so deep 'cause I can only imagine what my brother sees when he sees that."
The actor, who also shares daughter Similce, 13, and son Vincent, 11, with partner Paloma Jiménez, 38, named their daughter Pauline in honor of Paul. Even Meadow considers herself a part of the brood. "Family <3," she captioned a black-and-white photo of herself hugging Diesel and Similce in May 2021.
"All love. Always ... " Diesel wrote in the comments.
As for Diesel, he is simply grateful for what he has gained from signing a movie over two decades ago.
“You don’t realize what will be your life’s work… So much of Fast and Furious is celebrated by brotherhood that’s eternal… I never in a million years imagined 21 years ago… that beyond the script and the film there would be this other guiding light, this other driving force that propels you to be as passionate as you can and manifest in the movie… We’re all mortals, but love is immortal.”
