After a certain age, even being a famous supermodel in the world won't help you get a partner, according to Paulina Porizkova. The Sports Illustrated cover model made an appearance on Wednesday's episode of Red Table Talk, when she admitted to the show's hosts Jada Pinkett Smith, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, and Willow that she's currently having a very difficult time finding love. “Now I'm 57, and I'm in the dating pool,” Porizkova shared, prompting Jada to ask, “What is that like?” The model replied, “It's a small pool, dirty little puddle.” Adding with an ironic smile, “Girls, ladies—it sucks.” As per VanityFair, the reason why Porizkova believes online dating, particularly for older people, "sucks" is because the alternatives are so limited.

Porizkova claims that the lack of available possibilities who haven't already had sex with all of her friends is one of the main reasons dating is so miserable for her right now. “It turns out that on the dating apps, men my age that are willing to sleep with women our age, have slept with all my girlfriends already. There's like these five guys we keep passing around and they're like 'So did you sleep with him yet? Yeah, don't bother. Okay, cool thanks,'” The three hosts of the program laughed as a result of what Porizkova said. Porizkova has previously expressed dissatisfaction with dating. In response to a question from PEOPLE magazine in April about her love life, Porizkova simply said, "Crap!"

However, the model's love life wasn't always so mundane. Porizkova also discussed her connection with her late ex-husband, The Cars vocalist Ric Ocasek, and his unexpected passing in September 2019 during the conversation. “He had surgery because they'd found stage 0 lung cancer,” she explained. “I brought him a cup of coffee and he just looked like he was sleeping,” she recalled. “I set the coffee down next to him and that's when I saw his face. I saw his eyes. And they didn't look like eyes anymore.” At the age of 75, Ocasek passed away naturally in the former couple's New York City residence. After 28 years of marriage and having two children together, Ocasek and Porizkova had announced their separation in May 2018. The two were formally divorcing each other at the time of Ocasek's passing. Porizkova was shocked to learn that the singer had left her out of his will because he claimed that she had "abandoned" him prior to his surgery.

Porizkova opened up during her appearance on Red Table Talk about her other romantic misfortune, her marriage, and the difficulties of dating a rock star. The model admitted that she has only ever dated well-known individuals, saying that her friends believe the former Cars first lady should change her approach and look for "genuine people, real men that are going to respect you." She did, however, announce in October 2021 that she had reached a settlement with Ocasek's estate, telling The Originals podcast that she was "gonna be fine" even though she would not say how much money she had gotten.
