During the 1990s, she achieved worldwide fame after releasing several best-selling English albums, such as Falling into You (1996) and Let's Talk About Love (1997). However, the song that cemented her position as one of pop music's most influential voices was My Heart Will Go On from the 1997 movie Titanic. She also won an Academy Award for this song.

This song is not only one of Dion's most successful numbers but it continues to be one of the most cherished love anthems of all time. It would not be wrong to say that in its own way it brings the world together, such is its power. In fact, recently, this number was played by quarantined Italians to spread joy and love amid the COVID-19 lockdown.

Angelil too was immensely committed to her and had a big role to play in her successful music career, in fact, it was his dream to see his wife become the most cherished artist. Angelil believed in Dion's talent from the very first time he heard her [she was 12 and he was 38 when they met]. So much so, that he had even mortgaged his property to finance her album and took the teen and her mother on tour in Canada, Japan, and Europe, reports Good HouseKeeping.

They started dating when she was 19 but kept it a secret in fear of public judgments, but when one is in love, they want to express their happiness in front of the whole world. "When you're in love, you want to scream it to the world," she said.

They exchanged vows in 1994 and there was no looking back for Dion, both career-wise and relationship-wise. However, amid a healthy personal life and a soaring career, a piece of harrowing news shook the couple. Angelil was diagnosed with Cancer in 1998.

At this time, Dion took a very tough decision for love. She took a break from her career to be by her husband's side and take care of him. After two years of struggle, Dion's husband was declared cancer-free.

Darkness clouded their lives once again when Angelil's cancer returned in 2013 and went on to become the final battle that they fought together as a couple. Dion put her career on hold again and went back to spending time with her husband and family.

In 2016, Angelil lost his battle with cancer and left behind his wife and three children. But he left a little piece of himself in Dion as she never got over her husband's memories; in a positive way. Talking about her marriage she had once said, "It's lessons that every married couple should know to hold their relationship together," Good HouseKeeping quoted her. "We laugh. We joke. We kid each other. We want our marriage to last forever. Talk over everything and you'll find you are still on the honeymoon."

Ever since Angelil's demise, she seems to have developed a heavenly bond with him. Even today when she talks about him, there is a divine radiance on her face and a twinkle in her eyes. Time and again she has said that she is not looking for love because she is so full of it all the time.

"I do not date, I do not have a boyfriend. If I do find someone, great. If I don't, great," she said in an interview with Andy Cohen. "Because I'm still in love, once you are in love so much... I have lived all my life with René, he is still within me. I see him through the eyes of my children every day. I'm so passionate about life. I'm so lucky to have my three beautiful children."

She had also revealed that her husband is the only man she has ever kissed and that proves how complete their relationship was.

As the iconic pop singer steps into another year of her glorious life, we would like to thank her for inspiring so many of us with her music and love.
