Being a celebrity kid isn't all that easy, but Pierce Brosnan has made sure to teach his sons a few life lessons while they were growing up. Brosnan, and his sons Dylan, 25, and Paris, 21, recently appeared together in a feature on GQ, where the young Brosnans spoke about growing up with the "007" star as their father. Brosnan was at the height of his fame when Dylan and Paris were growing up, and they recall that, through it all, he taught them a lot about "preparation, passion, confidence, showing up on time." Dylan has learned a lot of important lessons from his dad, but the most important one is, "Don't be afraid to make fun of yourself." The two siblings grew up on film sets and in their family home in Kauai, Hawaii before they moved to Los Angeles during their teen years. The two consider their time in Hawaii to be the most normal time of their life, with Dylan likening it to the movie Stand By Me.
"A bunch of kids running around a forest, looking for something to do, riding bicycles down the street, going to caves and swimming and surfing and stuff," he said "I would be there and then come here for a few days." As his family traveled with his dad to his various projects, he was frequently absent from class, which left his peers perplexed, he joked. "Kids would be like, 'Oh, yeah – you're that guy. I went to fifth grade with you for, like, one week and then you left,'" he recalled.
The siblings cherish the moments they spent together on Brosnan's movie sets, especially their time in the ice castle from Die Another Day. While their father has discouraged them from pursuing acting, the two have both worked behind the scenes on movies as adults. As for discouraging his sons from following in his footsteps, Brosnan has a reason for that.

"Just because it's f***ing hard work," the actor said. "It's a cross to bear. You're constructing and destroying yourself." The brothers also shared that the majority of their friends are unaware of their dad's fame until they are invited into an environment where they would interact with the family. "I don't tell anybody that, under any circumstances," Dylan said, with a laugh. Brosnan shares Dylan and Paris with his wife Keely Shaye Smith. Brosnan is also dad to late daughter Charlotte and sons Chris and Sean, who he shared with his late wife Cassandra Harris.
