Pink recently revealed her track Who Knew was dedicated to her friends who lost their lives to a drug overdose. In a recent interview with pop singer Kelly Clarkson in her latest talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show, the Raise Your Glass hitmaker shared how her 2006 track was inspired by her friends who couldn’t make it after drug addiction. The menace of it and that it was the cause of losing two close friends simultaneously intrigued her to pen down her emotions.

The 43-year-old songwriter discussed the song as it has come to the fore with an all-new interpretation after the release of her I'm Not Dead album as per PEOPLE. "I lost several friends, unfortunately, to overdose, and the second one was very, very, very close to me, and I loved him very much. But the thing that I love about the song now, after all these years, is that I never get tired of performing it, and it's taken on so many different meanings over the years. It was about my grandmother at one point. It was about my dog," explained the Grammy-winning artist.

Pink told the host of the talk show, Kelly Clarkson, about a friend named Sekou, who died of a heroin overdose as a teen. "I've lost people, so it's always sort of fresh in my heart. But we need music for that, though," added the artist as she recalled the time music helped her display her sentiments better. "I need music to help me through my feelings, and I can numb down really easy," she said.

The Stronger singer and host of the show replied how tormenting the experience could be to watch the close people lose the battle with life. Soon, the vocal artists were accompanied by acoustic guitarist Justin Derrico on the sets as they performed the track Who Knew, again. The track reportedly reached No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 when it was released. Fans loved the rendition of the artists as it refreshed the memories attached to it.

People flocked with their love for the performance as they wrote comments on the comment box of the YouTube video. "Even though Kelly can sing with almost anyone, there's a particular tonal quality in their harmonies that's astounding," wrote one viewer. "I do hope collabs like this are a gateway to a full collaboration on an album, or at least a couple of singles," shared another as the pair of two powerful vocal cords made it to the most watched sections of the talk show.

Another clip, which became popular over the internet, appears to be a part of the interview and was released as a sneak peek. It has the two singers discussing the meaning behind another rocking track by Pink – What About Us. When asked what Pink was thinking about before writing it down, she says, "We're not listening to each other right now, and it's so loud and so gross and angry. And people are being forgotten, people are being counted out and their rights are being trampled on just because a group of people doesn't believe in them."

"I don't understand how so many people in this world are discounted because one group of people decided they don't like that, and I won't have it. One of the most beautiful things that my dad taught me was that my voice matters and I can make a difference, and I will," added the pop star as she continues to rock the souls of music enthusiasts with her fiery lyrics.
