Rumer's boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas has been ecstatic since making the pregnancy announcement.
Rumer Willis, 34, announced that she was pregnant on December 20, 2022. She is the daughter of the famous actor, Bruce Willis, and actress Demi Moore. Rumer's parents are elated and cannot wait to become grandparents. Recently, Rumer posted a picture on her Instagram story, that gives a new glimpse into her pregnancy journey. It was a picture of her baby bump, as she was sitting on a bed curled up with her pet cat. The picture had an aerial shot of her stomach as the cat sat between her crisscrossed legs.
Rumer and her boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas had also made the pregnancy announcement through a joint Instagram post. The post was a carousel of bump pictures. In one of them, Derek kissed Rumer's belly and the mother-to-be was smiling. In another picture, Rumer was next to a window, as she flaunted her pregnant silhouette. The last of the pictures featured an ecstatic Thomas. In a different post on Instagram, Rumer wrote that she "still cant believe I am currently cooking a little person in my belly right now." She continued that she is "deeply grateful for the incredible lessons and gifts" that she has received. She added, "I’m so grateful this little soul chose me to have the privilege of being their mama."
A source told PEOPLE about Bruce Willis' reaction,"he is happy about becoming a grandpa." The source added, "He loves having a big family. They are all spending Christmas together. Bruce is enjoying not working and having more family time. He likes being around his girls more." Demi Moore is excited too. She posted the couple's photos on Instagram and captioned them, "Entering my hot kooky unhinged grandma era."
In another picture on Moore's Instagram, Rumer is seen getting an ultrasound, surrounded by her sisters, Tallulah, 28, and Scout, 31, and her mother. The picture also shows Scout posing on one side of Moore and Tallulah leans forward and reaches out to touch her sister's baby bump. Their mother is seen holding their pet Pilaf. Moore captioned this post, "saying hello to the little nibblet!! Overjoyed for you, my sweet Rumer. It's an honor to witness your journey into motherhood, and can't wait to welcome this baby into the world!"
"So happy for you my love!", she added in the comments.
Congratulations also poured from Rumer's stepmother, Emma Heming Willis, who commented on the post, "Baby news is happy news!!! Congratulations @rumerwillis and @derekrichardthomas We are elated over here!" Rumer also thanked her family for their love and support and commented: "So grateful for my incredible lineage of women in my family. I love you all so much. This baby is so lucky to have you guys!" Rumer added, "also shoutout to Pilaf we couldn't do it without you!"
The family never ceases to celebrate important moments together. Bruce Willis and his wife Emma Heming Willis have their own children, Evelyn, 8, and Mabel, 10. They are also close to Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, The couple is also friends with Moore. Moore recently shared a Christmas picture on Instagram, where she posed with Willis, their three daughters, Emma, and her two daughters. She wrote in the caption, "We are FAMILY!! Getting into the holiday spirit!"
Thus, when the baby arrives, they will have a lot of love from the entire family!
