Trigger Warning: This story talks about death and it may be disturbing to readers.

A pregnant Jenna Foglesong was on her way to a doctor's appointment with two of her children—ages 13 and 6—when her car was hit by another.

The horrifying incident took place around 2:30 pm on December 2, 2021, at the intersection of Baseline Road and Val Vista Drive in Arizona, the Gilbert Police Department previously told ABC affiliate KNXV.

Foglesong told KSAZ that her 6-year-old son Eduardo, the youngest of her four sons, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but he died shortly after. The Gilbert Police said in a statement that their "traffic reconstruction team is on-scene investigating after a six-year-old boy injured in the accident was pronounced deceased."

"It was devastating. I can't even imagine what the mom is going through. It is just horrific,” said Mary Spinos, who was working nearby and heard the crash. "I ran over. I had to go. I had to pray. I had to pray. I had to pray over the family,” added Spinos.

She then revealed that as she prayed and hugged the young mother right after the accident, she never learned the mother's name. She is now hoping the family reaches out, so she can offer financial help.

The mother and her teenage son were also injured in the crash but they're doing okay. However, the family is finding it extremely hard to accept that their youngest son, who was all set to become a big brother soon, is no more. "We're not doing okay. We're sad," Foglesong said.

Foglesong says she feels guilty after the crash, although she wasn't the one who caused it. "I'm a mess, that was my baby, baby. So obviously there’s a lot of guilt because as parents, we beat ourselves up for everything, you know what I mean? For little things that we do. During the day I’m trying to stay away from that route because then it makes me think about other days," Foglesong said.

"There is so much I could say about him," she added. "He was a sweet, sweet baby...and he always told me he loved me all the time.

The family has also put together a GoFundMe to help raise money for Eduardo's funeral.

"No family is ever prepared for this and it's difficult to even write this. His mom, Jenna, and Eduardo's siblings need our support more now than ever before," reads a message on the online fundraiser. "Any donation is appreciated, even a share." There is also a Christmas tree at the crash site, and anyone can drop off a gift that'll be donated to the family.
