"I don't think Harry is interested in developing a relationship with his stepmother at this stage in his life," royal expert Ingrid Seward recently revealed.
The dynamics within the British Royal family are somewhat off. Prince William and Prince Harry used to be close at one point, but now they have a strained relationship. However, the one thing that held them close while growing up was they trying to figure out how to cope with the loss of their mother, Princess Diana.
After Diana's death, Prince Charles went on to remarry and Camilla Parker Bowles became their stepmother. It has been close to two decades since their marriage but royal expert Ingrid Seward recently revealed that Prince Harry "doesn't have great respect" for Camilla, and really has no interest in forming a relationship with her, per Cosmopolitan.
"I don't think Harry is interested in developing a relationship with his stepmother at this stage in his life," Ingrid said on the Pod Save the Queen podcast, adding that at first, both Harry and William were "very happy" to welcome Camilla into their lives and that she "kept in the background" and "didn't interfere."
"I don't think Harry has a great deal of warmth for her, he waxes and wanes with her," Ingrid explained. "I don't know about the recent trip but certainly I think Harry was quite happy to accept Camilla in the beginning but then went off the boil about her and I don't think he holds her in great respect."
Also, Prince Harry has been busy writing a (somewhat explosive) memoir that is expected to release sometime in 2022. There has been an assumption that Harry would take a dig at Camilla, but back in March 2022, biographer Angela Levin said that Harry was “very nice about [Camilla], according to The Sun.
He "said she was a wonderful woman and said he liked her very much” when they met, and noted that Camilla was “very helpful to Meghan when she first joined—took her out for lunch and tried to teach her some of the things she needed to know—the restrictions and the disadvantages as well as the positives.”
However, Levin did say that the book could be a form of "revenge" and be "spiteful" towards the royal family.
"Prince Charles is very malleable because he loves Harry very much so he might be more inclined to let him have his way, but I think if he reads what he says about Camilla then he won't do that."
Now, only time can tell what the memoir will reveal.
