In a shocking new teaser for their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, Prince Harry, and Meghan revealed why they chose to resign from their high royal positions. Harry says, "I wonder what would've happened to us if we had not got out when we did."

The trailer, which was published on Monday, shows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in their official positions. It features a selfie video that Harry probably recorded while on his "freedom flight," which he described as taking place after his final engagement as a senior working royal. The couple's security was "pulled," according to Meghan, and "everyone knew where we were," according to GMA.

Harry, the fifth in line to the British throne, claims later in the trailer that "lies" were said to shield his elder brother Prince William, the heir to the throne. An image of Buckingham Palace and a film of Harry and William attending their grandfather Prince Philip's funeral in 2021 are displayed as Harry speaks. As a picture of Harry and Meghan appears on the television, he continues, "They were happy to lie to protect my brother. They were never prepared to come clean in order to keep us safe." Harry further claims "I wasn't being thrown to the wolves, as Meghan claims of her time as a senior royal, amid institutional gaslighting. I was being fed to the wolves". The brief video offers no additional background on the claims Harry and Meghan are making.

Just before they celebrated their second wedding anniversary in early 2020, Harry and Meghan retired from their senior royal positions. The Sussex's most in-depth remarks on their choice to leave the UK and begin a new life in California, where they currently reside with their two children Archie and Lilibet, may be found in the Netflix documentary series. The documentary's first three episodes, produced in collaboration with Harry and Meghan's Archewell production firm, debuted on December 8. On December 15, Netflix will release the final three episodes, which were hinted at in the most recent trailer. The documentary also explores the controversies surrounding their departure from the royal family while also providing insights into Harry and Meghan's lives in California. "I've always felt as though this was a fight worth fighting for", the prince continues, as footage of Harry and Meghan riding bikes and strolling on the beach is shown.

The British royal family "declined to comment on the content within this series," stated Netflix, in the first few seconds of the show Harry & Meghan. But according to royal insiders, "neither Buckingham Palace nor Kensington Palace nor any members of the royal family were approached for comment on the content of the series" last week, as per ABC News.  Meanwhile, a Netflix source informed ABC News that the public relations departments for William and Harry's father King Charles III were contacted beforehand and given the opportunity to respond to statements made in the series.
