A new royal princess will soon take center stage now that Princess Beatrice "Bea", Princes William and Harry's cousin, and her now-fiance Edoardo "Edo" Mapelli Mozzi are engaged. Beatrice declared that she was "excited" and "can't wait to be married" to her millionaire property tycoon fiance.
Beatrice, 31, the eldest daughter of the Duke of York, Prince Andrew, and Sarah Ferguson aka Fergie, Duchess of York, got engaged in Italy earlier this month and the wedding will be next year, Buckingham Palace said. The engagement was a family affair with the beautiful engagement photos, where the couple is gazing into each other's eyes with love, were taken by Beatrice's younger sister Princess Eugenie and another photographer. They will make you want to watch a Hallmark movie about this adorable couple.
She may not be the most-known-royal out there but she has been seen out and about with her famous cousins, which is why there is a lot to unpack here. Her Royal Highness, Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary of York is the fifth grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II, according to Harper's Bazaar. Beatrice's younger sister Eugenie, 29, is already married to Jack Brooksbank. They have been wed since October 2018.
Her father Prince Andrew is the third child and the second son of the Queen, which makes her ninth in line for the throne. She used to be eight in line but with the birth of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, she was pushed to ninth.
Her sister and cousin Prince William dated for a long time before deciding to get married to their partners but Bea, as her sister calls her, was caught up in a whirlwind romance with this Italian signore. She fell in love with Edo in less than 12 months and they declared their engagement, which makes us think she is probably more like Harry. Edo was previously engaged to Dara Huang, mother of his two-year-old son Christopher Woolf.
Daily Mail quoted Huang as saying, "I wish the best for Edo and Beatrice and look forward to uniting our families."
The announcement took place on September 26 and was accompanied by their photos in Windsor Great Park. Her ring is an art deco-style diamond valued at up to £100,000. Edo helped British jewelry designer Shaun Leane design it. The bride-to-be wore a £595 floral midi dress by Australian brand Zimmermann and looked completely head over heels for her new fiance, who apart from being a millionaire is the son of an Italian count. He looked equally besotted by her in the photos.
"We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can't wait to actually be married. We share so many similar interests and values, and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness," the couple said in their statement.
On his Instagram account, Edo shared the engagement photos with the caption: "You will never be alone my love, my heart is your home. Hand in hand, today, tomorrow and forever."
They were first seen together at the National Portrait Gallery's 2019 Gala. Then, they were spotted holding hands in New York City. Later, at the Bahrain Grand Prix, the couple spent time with Beatrice's family. Sarah Ferguson was even seen with the couple there and the duo appeared at Ella Windsor's wedding to Thomas Kingston at St. George's Chapel in Windsor, according to Town&Country.
