Princess Charlotte's not-very-royal quirks have already made her one of the favorite royals, just like her grandma.
Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton recently did her first-ever podcast and shared her thoughts on motherhood. Along with the video she also shared an adorable photo of Princess Charlotte which sees her bending down to smell a bluebell. Kate wrote about the photo and said that it is small moments like these that mean the most to her as a parent.
“I’ve got this one photo of Charlotte smelling a bluebell, and really for me it’s moments like that mean so much to me as a parent. I try every day to put moments like that in, even if they’re small or even if I don’t have time."
This is not the first time that Charlotte's candor has won people's hearts and reminded them of her grandmom Lady Diana, who was the personification of simplicity despite being one of the most popular people in the world. This photo of the little princess shows that despite her royal upbringing she is quite in touch with the natural surroundings and loves spending time amid nature. Being engrossed in nature is also proof that she is sensitive and feels different forms of life around her.
Not to mention, this gesture of Kate shows that she too is trying to follow in the footsteps of her late mother-in-law when it comes to raising her children. Princess Diana strived to lead and give a normal life to both her sons, away from the limelight. She took conscious measures to create some profound and simple moments in their lives which would keep them grounded and humane.
That being said, Princess Charlotte herself is known to be at her candid best. She is not camera shy and owns herself when out in the public. From making faces at the paparazzi to striking a stunning pose for the camera, Charlotte had carved out a special place for herself in people's hearts.
In a conversation with Giovanna Fletcher on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, Kate revealed that her family loved spending time outside and that's when she mentioned this unseen photo of Charlotte.
“As children we spent an awful lot of time outside and it's something I'm really passionate about," said the 38-year-old mother. "It's so great for physical well-being and also mental well-being and actually really laying those foundations. It's also a really great environment to spend time building those quality relationships without the distractions," The Sun quoted her.
A seasoned mother now, Kate was very nervous when Prince George was born, so much so that she was slightly terrified to walk out of the hospital with her infant in her arms knowing that there will be a lot of people outside. But the support of family, she said, helped her initial nervous phase.
Discussing Kate's first experience at the exclusive hospital in 2013, Giovanna asked: "What was it like knowing that there are so many people outside after you've given birth and you're in your little cocoon with your new family?"
The Duchess replied, "Slightly terrifying, I'm not going to lie. Everyone has been so supportive and both William and I were really conscious that this was something that everyone was excited about and we're hugely grateful for the support the public has shown us."
"And actually for us to be able to share that joy and appreciation with the public, I felt was really important."
More power to the Duchess for being a courageous mother and inspiring many with her journey! And Princess Charlotte? Well, apart from receiving guidance from her family and well-wishers, she has in herself what it takes to stand out.
