She may be gone, but in the minds of those who loved her, she is immortal. And this artist captures that world in which she lives on with us.
More than two decades have passed since the People's Princess left us but she is still loved and remembered for the compassionate and kind woman she was. To us, she was a princess but Lady Diana was more than that to others. She was a mother, a daughter, a sister, and a wife.
Though a part of the British Royal family, she did the best she could to follow her heart and make sure that her sons were raised in a way that she wanted - with courage in their blood, kindness in their soul and love in their eyes. Sadly enough, she never got the chance to see them grow up into the men they are today. And many wonder how she would have been like as a mother-in-law and a grandmother to all the royal babies running around.
Fortunately, someone took up the effort to picture what she would have been like had she lived to see her sons get married and have children of their own. Artist Autumn Ying reimagined the late Princess of Wales in the various stages of life that she never got to experience. It is these art pieces that honor her and allow her to live on in the minds of those who loved her.
After all, to her sons, she was their Northern Star. Prince Harry remembers her as "the best mum in the world" and even said, "She was one of the naughtiest parents… She smothered us with love, that’s for sure," according to Good Housekeeping. "She was very informal and really enjoyed the laughter and the fun," said Prince William.
If she had not been in that fatal accident in Paris all those years ago, she would have been around to watch her sons turn into fine young men and have families of their own. And she would have been such a big part of their lives.
"A mother's arms are more comforting than anyone else's." - Princess Diana
