Iconic Moments from Princess Diana’s Short but Remarkable Life That Made Her the People’s Princess Everyone Loved

She would've been 58 years old today if she hadn't been so shockingly snatched from the world 22 years ago. She was a strong and free woman who did not go by the rule book and that is what defined her through her eventful life.

Princess Diana was a bright spark that ended too soon. At the young age of 36, she lost her life in a tragic car accident and left behind a legacy. Her sons have never stopped thinking about her and as adults who are now closer to her age when she died they want the world to keep remembering her. With documentaries and charity work that she used to endorse, they continue to keep her memories alive.

She entered public life at the young age of 20 after marrying Prince Charles, 32, and became a firebrand in her own light. She was brutally honest with the media and public about her marriage and the state it was in and did not fear from showing her wild and rebellious side.

“I think every strong woman in history has had to walk down a similar path, and I think it’s the strength that causes the confusion and fear," she had famously said in a tell-all BBC interview that led to the finalizing of her divorce in 1996.

Despite the difficult ending of her marriage, which was widely covered in the media, the woman hardly had any privacy. One of the tragic parts of her life was the amount of unwanted attention she received and struggled with. Her death in 1997 in Paris was caused by paparazzi stalking her car to get some photos.

On her birthday, July 1, let's take a look at some of the defining moments of her life that made her the People's Princess.
