"From the moment she took her first breath to now, she's never been without one of us, ever," Priyanka Chopra shared about her daughter.
Priyanka Chopra is disclosing more and more of her personal life. Recently, the Citadel actress shared a rare glimpse into her family life with her husband Nick Jonas, and daughter Malti. She recalled how the singer supported her after finding that the surrogate baby girl had been delivered early. Malti would ultimately spend more than 100 days in the NICU, at which time Priyanka claimed she "had to be her strength as her mom," who revealed the exclusive information to TODAY's Hoda Kotb.
"I remember he just held me by my shoulders, and I said, 'Just tell me what to do because I don't know what to do.' And he's like, 'Just get into the car with me.' And we drove to the hospital. She was born, and from the moment she took her first breath to now, she's never been without one of us, ever," the former Miss World revealed on the Spring cover of 2023 of the outlet. "I don't think it was our test. I think it was her test. I realized very, very early that I did not have the luxury to be scared or to be weak, because she was scared and weak. And I had to be her strength as her mom," she added.
Malti, who is 15 months old, is now doing well: The Hindi lullabies that Priyanka sang to her newborn girl in the NICU, which the Quantico star's mother also sang to her when she was a child, continue to soothe her. Chopra stated that she and Nick want Malti to be multilingual in Hindi and English in the future. The actor's family life is growing more and more each day, but it wasn't what she had in mind when she first met Nick, whom she admittedly originally misjudged.
"I didn't give it much of a chance because, I was like, 'He's 25 years old, he's a rockstar. I want to get married, I want to settle down, I want to have a baby.' I was 35 at the time," she says. "I wanted stability, and I didn't give Nick enough credit until I went out with him on our first date. We spent the whole evening together, and I realized my husband is just like an old soul. He's stability in human form," she shared about her husband Nick Jonas according to ENews.
"He's my cheerleader. He's the most secure man I've ever been with. He gets extremely excited at my wins. He takes off my extensions at the end of the night. He fixes my dress when I walk off stage and makes sure it looks right when I'm on the carpet. He brings me my coffee first thing in the morning," the Exotic singer said. She has been in love with her husband for more than five years and cannot stop thinking about him.
