"He's very into my music. I'm very into his career," Reba McEntire explained.
After a run of heartbreaks and unhappy marriages, Reba McEntire is madly in love. In her April 17 appearance on Today with Hoda & Jenna as Hoda Kotb's replacement, Reba McEntire discussed her three-year relationship with actor Rex Linn, whom the Grammy-winning country singer, 68, started dating during the lockdown.
During another segment of the program, co-host Jenna Bush-Hager said that it was "so much fun" to see McEntire "so in love," to which she retorted, "I'm telling you, he's a great guy to be in love with," per PEOPLE.

Before meeting Linn, McEntire was married to Narvel Blackstock for over two decades, splitting in 2015. She was heartbroken, for this was her second failed marriage. Before this, she was married to Charlie Battles from 1976 to 1987, who was very controlling. Bur McEntire seems to be in a beautiful relationship now with Linn. "He is 'Sugar Tot.' I'm 'Tater Tot,'" McEntire told Bush-Hager, "We're 'the Tots.'"
The pair's history began in 1991 when they became friends while starring together in The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw, according to McEntire. "I was one of the actors. He was one of the actors, and he gets a big kick out of it — he says his part was riding into a saloon on a four-year-old Colt and going, 'Yeehaw!'" McEntire said. "We stayed in communication all those years, and then in 2020, right before the pandemic, we had dinner together and have been together ever since," she continued. "I couldn't get close enough to him."
McEntire, who is scheduled to appear on The Voice's Season 23 as a major mentor, discussed the beginning of her romance with Linn on The Jennifer Hudson Show last month, per PEOPLE. "I was doing Young Sheldon, the TV show, Rex was doing Young Sheldon — so was Melissa Peterman, who played Barbara Jean on the Reba show," said the Fancy star.
"Rex texted me and said, 'You gonna be in town?' I said, 'Yeah.' He said, 'Well, let's go to dinner.'" They eventually went out to eat together, but according to her, the plans didn't materialize for a few weeks. "We all went to dinner, had a good time, and went down the street to a wine bar."
In October 2020, she described her connection with Linn to PEOPLE in an interview, saying, "It's good to have a person to talk to, laugh with, get into subjects about what's going on. Discussions about our past, our family, funny stories, him being an actor, me being an actress. And he's very into my music. I'm very into his career."
The Reba star added, "It's just great getting to talk to somebody who I find very interesting, very funny, very smart, and is interested in me, too," she added.
