Rebel Wilson is sharing the story behind the name of her firstborn whom she welcomed this week via surrogate. As we reported earlier, the 42-year-old captioned the sweet snap of her newborn, "Beyond proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, born this past week via surrogate. I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle! I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved, (you know who you are), this has been years in the making… but particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care. Thank you for helping me start my own family, it’s an amazing gift. The BEST gift!!"

The Pitch Perfect star told PEOPLE that her baby's full name is Royce Lillian Elizabeth Wilson and what the inspiration behind naming her was. "I wanted an original name starting with the letter R and so eventually landed on that one," she shared. R for Rebel and R for her girlfriend Ramona Agruma, perhaps? Speaking of Royce's middle names, Wilson shared, "Lillian and Elizabeth are both family names carried by women in my family who I admire. Elizabeth, which is also my middle name, after the late Queen." The Australian actress is on cloud 9 after becoming a mother for the first time, calling the experience of holding her infant for the first time "overwhelming and exciting." The Almond and The Seahorse star added, "My love for her is just overflowing. She is gorgeous and perfect. I felt like, 'Wow, this is such a precious miracle.'"

As we mentioned earlier, Wilson had been spending time working on her health since 2020, dubbing it the "year of health" for herself. She started on a diet and fitness journey, losing more than 40 pounds to reach her goal weight. "For the last few years, I've been theme-ing my years. So, I had the 'Year of Fun,' last year was my 'Year of Love,' and this year it's going to be the 'Year of Health' because I turned 40 this year in March," the actress previously told Drew Barrymore during an interview on the host's CBS talk show. "I never really focused on my health, which was probably obvious. I was going all around the world jet-setting everywhere and eating a ton of sugar. That was kind of my vice." she said. Later that year in November 2020, she revealed she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, a hormonal disorder that can cause weight gain and make reproduction difficult for women. "I started gaining weight when I was about 20," she told E! Online in an interview. "I like being all sizes. It's just now turning 40, I am more health-conscious and thinking of starting a family." We're so happy that she was not able to reach her goal of getting healthier but there's a new bundle of love in her family!
