Richard Gere and his wife, Alejandra Silva, gave fans a rare look into life as a family. It looks like Gere, 73, and Silva, 39, spent Christmas ever with their kids by the water. Sharing the rare snap on Saturday, according to PEOPLE, Silva captioned the post, “Merry Christmas 🎄from our family to yours. Love to all♥️ #FelizNavidad #MerryChristmas.” The boys' faces were concealed they turned away from the camera. Silva wore a breezy yellow sundress, and Gere looked casual in blue shorts and a white T-shirt. The boys looked adorable in matching blue footwear.
Gere is notoriously private about his personal life and is not on social media. His wife has shared a few photos of their kids but she keeps their faces concealed. The two are parents to their 3-year-old son, Alexander as well as their second son together in April 2020. They haven't revealed his name so far. Gere was previously married to Cindy Crawford from 1991 to 1995 and to Carey Lowell from 2012 to 2016. The star has a 22-year-old son named Homer from his marriage with Lowell. Silva has a 9-year-old son named Albert from a previous marriage.
The couple secretly tied the knot in 2018 in an intimate ceremony after dating for over three years. Silva announced the news at the time writing: "Today is the day I married the most wonderful man I have ever met, I know it sounds cliché but it’s true!! Comes from my heart, I'm so proud to be with you, to share this life with you, to be the mother of our children, to be your friend, to be your Wife! You make me sooo happy! You are the love of my life."
The couple had been going through both their own divorces when they met and it were their common struggles that brought them closer to each other. "Love stories with a complicated beginning, where you have to overcome difficulties together, can bring you closer... I'm sure I did [have some doubts] at some point. In the beginning, he was more convinced than me. But from very early on, we felt that we were destined to be together," Silva told HELLO!. "Without a doubt, I feel like the luckiest woman in the world… What could be more romantic than a man who writes you songs every day?" she shared. Looks like Gere, a popular lead in romantic films from the past, is pretty romantic off-screen too!
