The couple were proud parents of two sons from their ex-partners before the two brought their first child to the world 9 months ago. And now, they are expecting their second bundle of joy!
Hollywood's beloved superstar Richard Gere is expecting his second child with wife Alejandra Silva, just nine months after they welcomed their first child, Alexander, in February 2019, reports PEOPLE.
Gere is father to 19-year-old son Homer James Jigme with ex-wife Carey Lowell, while Silva is a mom to six-year-old son Albert from a previous marriage. While the couple has not made the news official, PEOPLE and Hello! Magazine have confirmed it.
Gere, 70, and Silva, 36, tied the knot in April 2018 on his ranch outside New York City. There's has been a fairy tale romance and the age gap has never been a hurdle in their relationship. The couple seems extraordinarily happy and content in their new life. "I feel like I'm in a true fairytale. Without a doubt, I feel like the luckiest woman in the world," Alejandra said to Hello! in 2018.
Gere, who wooed Silva by sending her flowers until she agreed to date him, added, "I'm the happiest man in the universe. How could I not be? I'm married to a beautiful woman who is smart, sensitive, committed to helping people, who's fun, patient, who knows how to forgive, who's a great cook – and who makes the best salads in the world!"
A source close to the couple had revealed to PEOPLE that they are deeply in love and happy with each other, "They are extraordinarily happy. They’re so comfortable with each other, have fun together and are looking forward to their future together."
The couple, reportedly, started dating in 2014 and have faced criticism for their unconventional age gap ever since they went public with their relationship. While they have never let trolls add bitterness to their sweet tale of love, they try to keep a low-profile in terms of their personal life to keep negativity at bay, as evident by their hushed pregnancy 9 months ago.
As per a close source to the couple, Gere is much happier in this phase of his life as he is settled down and content. He "has been much happier in this half of his life because he is settled, confident and doing what he likes," revealed the source to PEOPLE.
