Age is literally just a number when it comes to these two love birds who seem to fall more and more in love every day.

From the moment Richard Gere steps onto the screen, our eyes are glued to him. His charm and his talent shine bright and we just can't seem to look away. But while our eyes are on him, his eyes are on just one person — his wife, Alejandra Silva. The love he has for her is all-encompassing and the fact that they have an age gap of 34 years, doesn't bother him. And it doesn't scare Silva either as she told Hello Magazine in 2019.
She said, "In this life, it had to be like this. He has promised me at least 20 good years! I have to confess that he has much more energy than me; he's much more active. I find it hard to keep up with him. He's not human!" But that doesn't stop her from loving him just the same.
Together since 2014, the much-in-love couple tied the knot in a secret ceremony in April 2018. And they're extraordinarily happy. Speaking to Hola Magazine after their wedding, the Spanish publicist opened up saying, “I was a little lost, without light, and knowing him gave meaning to my life. It was feeling that someone was reaching out and showing me my true path.”
For Gere, being married to her was a step closer to achieving a similar bond that the actor's parents had with each other. In 2017, before getting married to Silva, he spoke to The Guardian and said, "My mother and father were married for over 70 years. It’s the sort of marriage I always aspired to having myself but haven’t yet managed." Well, it seems like he's getting there.
While many might think that the spark between the two would have fizzled out by now, it's actually the opposite. The two cannot stop gushing about each other. "I'm the happiest man in the universe. How could I not be? I'm married to a beautiful woman who is smart, sensitive, committed to helping people, who's fun, patient, who knows how to forgive, who's a great cook – and who makes the best salads in the world!" said the Pretty Woman star about his wife to Hello. "Alejandra meditates, she's a vegetarian, a great mother, has the touch of an angel... and she's also Spanish: the land of kings and queens, of Cervantes and Buñuel... You can't get any better than that."
In response to that, Silva said, "I never thought I'd find a man so perfect for me. I have no words to describe my happiness." When asked what he says she's given him, she replied, "He knows I love him madly. I think I bring him stability. Above all, it helped I wasn't an actress or a model. I never had any interest in that. What has united us the most is our desire to help other people who need it, our commitment to Buddhism and the Tibetan people. And he was able to see my unconditional commitment as a humanitarian, as a person, as a woman… It's the sweetest, most romantic dream I've ever had. That's why I've decided to stay in it!"
In fact, he still writes love songs for her. "I feel like I'm in a true fairytale," said Silva. "Without a doubt, I feel like the luckiest woman in the world… What could be more romantic than a man who writes you songs every day?" And their family of two has already grown, with them becoming parents to Alexander in 2019 while they wait to bring their second child into the world soon.
Their never-dimming love proves that love can strike at any age. All one needs to do is recognize, respect and appreciate such true love and make the effort to build a solid relationship. We wish them all the best and to many more years to come.
