Rihanna ended up giving an epic performance at the Super Bowl 57 halftime show—while visibly pregnant.
Rihanna is pregnant with her second child and fans got a peek at the announcement following her explosive Super Bowl halftime show. The 34-year-old previously hinted to CBS Sports that she was "thinking about bringing someone" during her halftime performance. During the show, fans speculated if she was pregnant, and indeed she is!
The pop star also wanted her Super Bowl performance to represent immigrants, her country Barbados and Black women around the world, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Grammy winner and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, welcomed their first child in May 2022. She admitted her son has changed her perspective on life. “When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world — you can do anything. And the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, so as scary as that was … there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all,” she said. “It’s important for my son to see that.”

Her own mother has been an inspiration to the Barbados-born musician who taught her how to be humble. “Because if not, this industry will humble you one way or the other,” she said. “My humility came from my childhood growing up in the Caribbean, growing up in my household with my mom. She’s a very humble woman, her mom was a very humble woman, and I’ve never lost sight of that. That’s very important to me," she added. She plans to keep the motto going and pass it on to her own children. "I often fear the pedestal that the world can put you on, and I always want to feel my feet on the ground — that makes me feel safe,” the Diamonds singer shared.

Rihanna ended up giving an epic performance at the Super Bowl 57 halftime show—while visibly pregnant. The singer performed 12 songs and was even lifted onto platforms above the field! The music superstar previously spoke to retired NFL player and host Nate Burleson on the first episode of his podcast, The Process with Nate Burleson, saying she thinks twice before making a decision now.
"I'm living for my son," Rihanna said of her 9-month-old on the iHeart/NFL podcast. "Everything matters now. You really start to take a lot into account. Skydiving?! You really think about stuff like that — it's not worth it," she added. "Everything is different, life before my son seems very obscure. It's very small and cloudy, it just got better with him." Rihanna noted that raising a child is no easy feat but it's definitely oh-so rewarding. "It's so much hard work, but nothing is more fulfilling than that," she explained.
