To deal with the loss of her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, who died in January of this year, Riley Keough has avoided the spotlight.
Riley Keough has Lisa Marie Presley on her mind. On Sunday, May 14, the 33-year-old Daisy Jones & The Six actress paid homage to her mother in an Instagram post, marking the first Mother's Day without her. In the picture, Presley, who passed away on January 12 at the age of 54, is seen cradling a young Keough while her ex-husband, Danny Keough, sits by her side. The couple also had a son named Benjamin Keough, who committed suicide in 2020 at the age of 27. They were married from 1988 until 1994, according to PEOPLE.
"Lucky to have had the best and most deeply loving mama I could have asked for 💕," Keough captioned her post dedicated to her mum. Keough received messages of support from followers who expressed their love in the comments area as she observed the annual event. Her 14-year-old twin sisters, Finley and Harper Lockwood, whose father is Presley's ex, Michael Lockwood, were also mentioned in a touching note written to Keough by a fan. "Riley, Sending so much love to you, Harper, and Finley today. Praying the legacy of her love will be with you girls every day of your lives. You are such a strong, beautiful young woman and I admire you!" they wrote.
One user wrote, "Sending you love Riley xx I know today is difficult for you xx While another said, “Thinking of you today 💝." Meanwhile, celebrities like actor Lindsay Lohan and model Naomi Campbell added hearts in the comment section of the social media platform. Keough is also a mother herself. A baby girl was born to her and her husband Ben Smith-Petersen last year, and they are proud parents. Earlier this year, during Presley's memorial ceremony at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee, in January, the actress' motherly role was made public.
At the time, Smith-Petersen shared a tribute on behalf of his wife, who was sat in the front row, and announced that he and Keough are parents. The Lovesong actor married Smith-Petersen eight years ago. "I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters. Thank you for giving me strength, heart, empathy, courage, my sense of humor, my manners, my temper, my wildness, and my tenacity. I'm a product of your heart, my sisters are a product of your heart, my brother is a product of your heart," Smith-Petersen said of his mother-in-law as he read the words of his wife.
He did not provide any other information, not even the name of their daughter. To deal with the loss of her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, who died in January of this year, Riley Keough has primarily avoided the spotlight. Her whole family, a source told US Magazine, was satisfied with the way she handled the burial, her mother's estate, and custody of her younger half-sisters. The family anticipates her managing a sizable portion of the fortune, the insider continued.
