“And then I said to myself, ‘Pheromones,” They do exist," the Oscar Winner recalled.
In case you were wondering, Rita Moreno is still very much in the game. The Oscar winner, 91, is working on the upcoming comedy, 80 for Brady. She appears in the movie with Sally Field, Lily Tomlin, and Jane Fonda. She revealed on The Kelly Clarkson Show that making the film has reinvigorated her in ways she hadn’t expected. Moreno recalled a conversation with Fonda on the film’s set. Fonda had asked her, “How do you feel about sex?” To this Moreno had replied, "Oh, god, no. I’m done.”
About a week after the conversation, Moreno encountered an episode that made her reconsider what she thought about herself. The actors were filming a scene in a locker room that was full of good-looking men. Moreno remembered how she felt in that moment which she reenacted by putting her hands on her chest adding, “To my absolute amazement — I swear to god — to my absolute amazement, I take a deep breath and I go...” which left Clarkson and her audience in splits.
“And then I said to myself, ‘Pheromones,” Moreno exclaimed. “They do exist." She remembers telling herself, "What’s the matter with you? You’re 90. For god’s sake, you’re 90.” She then added, “I know now that somewhere in here there was a little ovary saying, ‘Everybody up!'”
The movie 80 for Brady is about four elderly women, who are determined to see Tom Brady play in the Super Bowl with the New England Patriots when the team squared off in the big game against the Atlanta Falcons.
As per TODAY, Fonda also shared a memory from the sets of the movie when she met Brady. “And when he walked into my trailer at the end, my knees gave way. I had to hold onto something. I mean, he is gorgeous. He is so gorgeous,” said Fonda. Rob Gronkowski, who also appears in 80 for Brady, joked on the Let’s Go! podcast that the seven-time Super Bowl champion may want to date Field. Field was shocked when she heard Gronkowski was trying to play Cupid. “Me? Wait a minute. He never told me that. What?” a stunned Field said when asked about it on TODAY.
Brady is the producer of the film, which is based on a true story. He also costars in the film and told Variety that his former teammates Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, and Danny Amendola grace the big screen with cameos as themselves as well. “We’ve been part of a lot of battles together,” Brady told the outlet. “Anytime I get my friends involved in things that I’m doing, it makes it that much more enjoyable for me.”
