Though he didn't provide any further details, it is believed he welcomed his seventh child with his rumored girlfriend Tiffany Chen. "God bless him, his significant other. Tiffany is such a beautiful woman," his About My Father co-star Kim Cattrall told Extra. "She came to the set once with her family and watched the filming, and she was gorgeous and sweet. I'm happy for both of them." His other About My Father co-star Sebastian Maniscalco also expressed happiness for the veteran actor, saying, “I was informed today that he had the baby. I didn't know leading up to this that he was going to have a baby, but yeah God bless him. He's a very soft-spoken individual, loves to spend time with his family and I'm happy for him.”
The two-time Oscar winner was excited about becoming a father for the seventh time. “I’m ok with it,” he told the outlet. “I’m good with it,” the actor said smiling. When asked if fatherhood gets easier with time, the Meet the Parents star quipped, “Never gets easier.”
According to Vanity Fair, De Niro, who is 79 years old, has six children from previous relationships. His eldest is Drena, 51, whom De Niro adopted when he married her mother, Diahnne Abbott, in 1976. He also shares Raphael, 46, with Abbott. In 1995, he welcomed twin sons Julian and Aaron, 27, with his former girlfriend, model-actress Toukie Smith. He later had two children with his second ex-wife, Grace Hightower: Elliot, 25, and Helen Grace, 11.
The Irishman actor usually keeps his private life on the down low but when speaking about his family, he often reveals his vulnerable side. "There are great moments and moments of sadness," he previously told PEOPLE of raising his kids. "Sometimes you’re the last person they want to deal with. It’s like when you walk your kids to school and they get older and they don’t want to hold your hand or kiss you goodbye."
The Godfather star doesn’t consider himself a “cool dad” telling ET Canada’s Brittnee Blair that he believes “in being loving with [his] kids,” despite sometimes having “to be stern about stuff." He continued, “And any parent, I think, would say the same thing. You always want to do the right thing by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt but sometimes you can’t.”
