Sally Nixon, a Little Rock, Arkansas resident, wanted the world to see the natural and real side of a woman's life through her unfiltered art.
Sally Nixon is an illustrator who had been looking for inspiration to create her art when she came noticed something common among viral social media posts- they were all stage. The Little Rock, Arkansas resident wanted the world to see the natural and real side of a woman's life through her unfiltered art. Nixon beautifully captured the casual everyday activities that a woman does throughout the day and they are as trivial as eating in bed, showering, brushing their teeth, and moving around without pants. Her motive was to basically show what every woman does when nobody's watching.
Nixon makes it a point to keep the characters relatable. "The women I draw come from my imagination for the most part, however, each of them, in one way or another, is a reflection of my personality," she told Vice's Creators Project. "They don’t have perfect bodies or perfect habits and that makes them relatable. The scenes I create around them are everyday places: a bathroom, a restaurant, a messy bedroom. However, my goal with each drawing is to elevate the seemingly mundane girl problems to something special and worthy of being viewed." Her work truly hits home with all its honesty and reality. Below listed are a bunch of Nixon's best works that you'll surely enjoy and find at least a bit of yourself in some of them:
