This powerful image of a Santa praying to Jesus will inspire you to believe in the "reason of the season."
Christmas is a time when we open our hearts to do whatever good we can in the world. We care for our close ones and strangers who are in need. We spend time with our families and friends and make sure they know that we love them. Whether our family lives within 5 miles of us or are all spread across different parts of the country or the world, we do what we can to spend time with them over the holidays. But not all families are so lucky.
For some, the holiday season is a painful reminder of their grief and pain. For others, it's a bittersweet time if they have a loved one who is going through a bad phase. Then there are those who have to see their loved ones suffer due to sickness. If you're a parent with a sick child, nothing can be worse than not being able to bring your child home for Christmas. But, there are those who still want to bring a smile to those children's faces.
One hospital in Texas wanted to bring some joy and cheer to the children staying there who wouldn't be able to go home for Christmas. And who better to cheer up children? Santa, of course! They brought in a person dressed as Santa. But he did not just spend time with the children and make them smile; he did a little more than that which proved humanity still exists in this world.
After entertaining the children and spreading some Christmas cheer around, he prepared to leave. On his way out, he saw the chapel in the hospital and found his way in there, according to Newsner. The image that was captured by the director of the hospital speaks a thousand words.
Mariana Whitley Tumlinson, director at the hospital, wrote in a post on Facebook, "I keep getting choked up with this photo. Today, after Santa visited our patients and was on his way out, he noticed our Chapel. I, of course, said yes. I didn’t walk in with him right away but when I did I was so moved by this image I had to capture it."
Not only did this Santa visit the patients, but he also prayed for them to Jesus to take care of the innocent, sick children who couldn't be with their families for the holidays. "What a great reminder of the reason for the season. #reasonfortheseason #myfavoritesanta," she wrote.
The image went viral and has garnered more than 38,000 likes and has been shared more than 40,000 times.
What a kind soul, this Santa is!
