Even though actor Sarah Jessica Parker and actor husband Matthew Broderick have been together for over 25 years and frequently attend red-carpet events together, their three children are rarely present. Up until recently, when, according to PEOPLE, the entire family attended the Broadway opening night of Some Like It Hot. James, 19, and Marion and Tabitha, twins who are 12 years old, were present with their parents Parker, 57, and Broderick, 60. The five-member family walked the red carpet for the function at the Shubert Theatre in New York City.
The family was immaculately attired for the night out. Parker accessorized her sparkly blue dress and cream-colored trench with a long pearl necklace and a pair of black and white heels. In a dark pair of slacks, matching turtleneck, and blue plaid blazer, Broderick, complemented his wife. Both of the twins were dolled up in dresses with floral jackets, and James was dressed similarly to his stylish father, in a dark suit, white shirt, and plaid tie. The A-list couple, who have been married since 1997, is renowned for shielding their kids from the media and for rarely posting pictures of them on social media. However, as the kids have grown older, the acting couple has occasionally brought their kids along to events.
Though Parker and her husband make an effort to keep their children out of the spotlight, Parker occasionally posts pictures of her family on Instagram. The mother of three expressed her conflicted feelings last year after sending her son off to college and her daughters into middle school. She also wrote a sweet poem about how quickly they age. “In the span of 7 days. One crosses the threshold into his freshman year of college, according to Page Six. "The other 2 into 7th grade,” she wrote alongside photos of the kids, blocking out their faces for privacy. She concluded by expressing how extraordinarily bittersweet it is to watch our children mature. She went on, “The house is different. We are different. They need us more. And far less. So many know. Gutted at the time passed. Passing. Exhilarated by the possibilities that await them. The love. The love. The love.”
The family doesn't go out much together, but they did this past March when they went to the Broadway premiere of Parker and Broderick's revival of the classic Neil Simon's comedy Plaza Suite. James and Broderick also attended the And Just Like That... premiere in December. Some Like It Hot on Broadway is a remake of the Marilyn Monroe-starring 1959 MGM movie of the same name.
Parker and Broderick were joined by their two daughters at the Hocus Pocus 2 premiere in New York City in September 2022. The occasion was memorable for Parker because it was the 29th anniversary of the original Hocus Pocus and she was reprising her role as Sarah Sanderson, according to TODAY. In the follow-up, Doug Jones was joined by Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and others.
