Robin Williams' death still remains one of the saddest celebrity losses. It affected a lot of people, including others in the industry. In 2014, Williams died by suicide, and it was only revealed after his death that he suffered from Lewy body dementia, a type of progressive dementia which is the second most common type after Alzheimer's disease.

Following the death of friend and co-star Williams, Sarah Michelle Geller took a break from acting, mainly because she needed to process the loss, according to PEOPLE.

The 45-year-old actress played the legendary comedian's daughter in the CBS sitcom The Crazy Ones from 2013 to 2014. The series ran for one season, making it the last ever television role that Williams took on.

Though the two only worked together briefly, his death had a big impact on her.

At the time of his death, Gellar shared a heartfelt statement, “My life is a better place because I knew Robin Williams. To my children he was Uncle Robin, to everyone he worked with, he was the best boss anyone had ever known, and to me he was not just an inspiration but he was the Father I had always dreamed of having."

"There are not enough adjectives to describe the light he was, to anyone that ever had the pleasure to meet him. I will miss him everyday, but I know the memory of him will live on. And to his family, I thank them for letting us know him and seeing the joy they brought him. Us crazy ones love you."

Soon, she realized that she wanted to spend time with her daughter Charlotte Grace, 12 and son Rocky James, 9 who she shares with actor husband Freddie Prinze Jr.. "I've been working my entire life," she said. "When I had kids — and it was right after Robin passed away — there was just so much going on in my life and I just said, 'I need to take a break.'"

"I need to be here for these early formative years of my kids' life," shared the mom of two. "I needed that break to be the parent that I wanted to be."

But as her kids grew older, Geller began to miss doing what she really loved. "I started to really miss it," Gellar recalled. "But it's also finding the right opportunity, something that speaks to you that also speaks to your audience."

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum found the right role in the new Paramount+ supernatural drama series Wolf Pack where she will play arson investigator Kristin Ramsey. "It's about working with people that I really love working with, where I look forward to spending time with the people," said Gellar. "I want everyone to have a good time because look, acting's fun. We're creative, and yeah, sometimes the nights are really long, but what we get to do is really cool."
