To fall in love is a wondrous thing. For some, it may happen just once in their lives, for some others, it may happen multiple times. Irrespective of how many times we fall in love, only a few people leave a mark on our hearts for the rest of our lives. Unfortunately, we may not be able to be with that person and the reasons for that could be many.

Clint Eastwood's son Scott Eastwood, who is beginning to make a name for himself in Hollywood after following in his father's footsteps, went through a tragic and traumatic experience which makes it hard for him to open up to love now. The 34-year-old is the son of Clint and Jacelyn Reeves, who was once a flight attendant. Clint and Reeves also have a daughter Katherine.

Scott was appreciated for his performance in 2015’s The Longest Ride, which was adapted from the eponymous Nicholas Sparks book. Taylor Swift cast him as her love interest in her Wildest Dreams video, as per People magazine.

The actor revealed that while he has dated many people, the death of one of his first girlfriends broke his heart completely. He is still not able to move on from the tragic event and it has affected his romantic life. The Outpost actor told GQ in 2016 that when she died was the last time he cried.

"I dated a girl a couple of years ago who died in a car accident," he said. "I’ve lost friends before; I’ve lost some great friends. But, I had never lost someone I had been really intimate with, you know, like in that way, in a relationship," the Pacific Rim Uprising actor said.

The way she died was "f—– up," he said and described what happened to her. "It was a fender bender, and there was a recall on airbags," he explained. "Her airbag exploded. It shot a projectile through her body. It split her spine," he added. While he didn't name her, he could be referring to Jewel Brangman, a model, who died because of a faulty airbag, as per People.

On September 7, 2014, Jewel died in a car crash on her way to Los Angeles from San Diego to Los Angeles. Her car had rear-ended a van. Her father then filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Honda, the airbag manufacturer, and the rental company of the vehicle she was driving, a 2001 Honda Civic.

The actor was so torn up over her death that he was never even able to send condolences to the woman's father. "I still haven’t found the right words," he told GQ. The grief of losing her was still with him then. "I think that really affected me in a way that… I don’t know. Maybe it’s made it harder for me to date," he added.

The actor is also the son of a man who had many children with many women. It's not known how often Clint would spend time with Scott or his sister Katherine because there are eight Eastwood children with six different women. The behavior of a parent leaves a mark on a child's mind, even if it's subconscious.

Scott has been linked to Jana Kramer, Brittany Brousseau, and Nina Dobrev in the past. The actor revealed that he spent time tending bar as an up-and-coming actor, even with a famous father, and it was the best way to meet women.

"That was probably the wildest time. It still beats out being in movies or whatever. It still beats out all that, a thousand times," he added. When asked why he still wasn't settled down in 2016, he showed skepticism towards love. "It’s easy to fall in love when you’re young, right? And then you start to realize those feelings of love and stuff, passion, love, lust, sometimes they come very quickly, but they can also leave quickly," the cynic added.
