Selena Gomez posed with her sister Gracie Elliott Teefey for photos on the 2023 Golden Globes red carpet. The 30-year-old actress was nominated for her role in Only Murders in the Building in the best performance by an actress in a television series (musical or comedy) category at the 80th Golden Globes.
It was adorable to see her 9-year-old sister as her Golden Globes date with the two of them all glammed up. The last time the two attended an event together was in 2019 for the Hollywood premiere of Frozen II where the siblings wore matching ensembles, according to Good Morning America.
"Honestly, it was the coolest feeling," Gomez later said during an interview on BBC One's music show Sounds after Gracie, joined her for the premiere of Frozen 2. "I said to her, 'This is my favorite carpet I have ever done.' Because she's never done any of that and we didn't force her to do that. Everything we do … to keep her safe, but my sister's become very dramatic now. She's all about the dresses, and the glitter."
The big star also shared some advice before she stepped foot on their first carpet with her little sister. "I bent down and I looked at her before we stepped on and I said, 'If you get nervous, if you get overwhelmed, just pull my hand and I'll take you off immediately.' And she's like, 'K,' and walked straight on the carpet and has her full moment with the feathers," Gomez said, joking. The sisters have had a special relationship ever since Gracie was born in 2013. Gomez's mom Mandy Teefey welcomed the young one with Gomez's stepfather Brian in 2013, according to PEOPLE.
Gomez is very close to her younger sibling and spoke to her friend Raquelle Stevens in 2022 about how little Gracie is the rainbow in her cloud, reports ELLE. “She’s eight years old, and she puts things in perspective,” Gomez said at the time. “I have to basically watch this little person grow into a human being and there’s no better feeling in the world. I kind of feel like I’m a parent in a way even though I’m not. It’s so rewarding to see that life was so simple at one point, and I want to enjoy life sometimes the way she enjoys life.”
