Trigger Warning: This story mentions physical abuse that may be disturbing to readers.
Selma Blair, who was recently allegedly assaulted by her ex-boyfriend Ronald Carlson has been granted a restraining order against him. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Carlson was dropping off a television set at her home on February 22, 2022, when Blair, who was on the couch, told him that she was feeling ill and was on medication to treat her Multiple Sclerosis.
In what is considered to be an alleged fit of frustration, Carlson screamed at Blair about how she was good for nothing. “You f—ked up, you can’t do anything, you can’t love anybody, you’re f—king useless, you cripple … I don’t f—king deserve this, I can do so much better than you.”
Blair claimed that Carlson, who couldn't control his anger even after verbally abusing her, jumped on her on the couch, grabbed her neck, “and strangled her, throttling her and shaking her head and shoulders aggressively.”

According to the court documents, Blair defended herself from Carlson's wrath by sticking her fingers in his eyes and mouth. He retaliated by covering her mouth and face with his hands, which left Blair unable to breathe and later caused her to lose consciousness.
When the cops arrived at Blair's residence, she told them that her nose began to bleed heavily and she lost consciousness again. The first responders at the scene immediately rushed Blair to the hospital, so she could undergo further evaluation.
Because of his unprovoked outburst, Carlson was arrested for felony domestic violence with corporal injuries. Police initially granted a five-day restraining order against him, but Blair and her legal team managed to get a temporary one that will stop him from coming anywhere near her.
However, nearly two weeks after the incident, Carlson also filed a restraining order against Blair. He alleged that the altercation took place after Blair became “angry and antagonistic” when he declined to sit next to her on the couch at her home. He said since they had both recently been sick, he wanted to maintain some distance between them.
He then claimed that Blair became agitated and confrontational and told him that his daughter was a “f—king loser.” She then swung her right arm at his face, hit him in the eye, and continued to “scratch him in the nose, eyes, and cheeks.” He denied attacking her first and said he was only trying to defend himself from her.
Carlson then shared that Blair’s bloody nose had been a problem days before the fight occurred and that she had complained about it to him in a text that he also shared with TMZ.
Meanwhile, Carlson’s restraining order petition has not yet been granted. According to Page Six, before breaking up earlier this year, the pair had dated on and off since 2017.
