Age is just a number for country crooner Shania Twain as she poses for a racy photoshoot to promote her latest album Queen of Me. As the title of the album implies, it seems Twain has dedicated Queen of Me to the concept of self-love. The Still The One singer’s newly released Netflix documentary, Not Just A Girl has possibly kickstarted the most personal phase of her career. As per Prevention, the 57-year-old wants her latest album to represent everything that she has conquered so far, including her insecurity as a youngster. Twain wasn’t always comfortable in her own skin while growing up and in an interview with TalkShopLive she revealed that “she was one of those teenagers who would never wear a bikini at the beach.”

“I didn’t do it when I was younger, so I’m going to do it now. I’m going to feel and show that I feel comfortable in my own skin,” the singer proudly confessed. The cover art of her latest album shows the singer slathered in the mud with her wild tresses kept loose whereas a few other teasers from the album show her with a button-down black dress atop a horse and one picture has Twain strategically placing a hat in front of her to cover her bare skin. “Trust me, this took courage because I am so not an exhibitionist. It was all about my own message to myself. Just saying, you know, it’s just time to feel comfortable in my own skin and share that with other people and just share those insecurities,” Twain explained.

Shania Twain repeatedly assured herself when her insecurities about aging tried to creep up.“Repeating the message to myself was the beginning, ‘OK, I’m fine with the way I look, I’m fine aging, I’m fine and comfortable with myself.’ I can’t just say it. I’ve got to live it,” she said.

Twain posted the teasers of her new album on her Instagram page along with the tour dates and she hoped that her message of self-empowerment can effectively encourage her fans to embrace their own. “Life is short and I want to be uplifted, colorful, unapologetic, and empowered. I want to carry a clear message, particularly as a woman, to always remember my power and I hope the songs are a reminder to you, of that same power inside you!” she captioned in one of her posts.
