Shania Twain Is Experimenting With Her Hair Since Going Gray | “I Might Change My Hair Color Every Week”

"It’s almost an excuse to play with color and embrace it," Shania Twain explained.

You'll be really impressed by Shania Twain's perspective on beauty. The singer of Man! I Feel Like a Woman has never been reluctant to try new things with her appearance. With dazzling hairstyles rocking hair colors like platinum blonde, and bubblegum-pink at E!'s People's Choice Awards, and most recently, brilliant red hair at the 2023 CMT Music Awards, she has pushed the frontiers of fashion in only the last few months, per TODAY.

The singer recently revealed that has to do with going gray. “Over the years, I have had many different styles,” the country music superstar, 57, told E! News on the red carpet of the CMT Music Awards on April 2. “I’m playing more with color right now and I’m enjoying that because I’m going gray.”

“As I go gray, I’m like, ‘I might as well toy around with different colors,'" she explained. "It’s almost an excuse to play with color and embrace it. I just enjoy playing around with it, like fashion," said the singer.

Shania, who won the CMT Equal Play Award, made a suggestion that if her hair is completely gray, she'll go for even more daring styles. Twain is now able to experiment with hair colors that she previously wouldn't have dared to. "I might change my hair color every week," she shared. "Why not? I'll have an empty palette. I'm experimenting with that."

One way Shania expresses herself is through her audacity with beauty. She urged her followers to be authentically themselves in December in her acceptance speech when she won The Music Icon Award at the People's Choice Awards. "Giddy up kids," Shania began her speech onstage. "Embrace your individuality and your crazy ideas. Just be brave. There is power in numbers. We are in this together. Love is love and when a door slams in your face, just run and leap at that door and kick it down. You won't regret it." She concluded, "Be the queen of you."

The singer is only looking on the positive side by expressing that she wants to age gracefully, despite the fact that her exhibition of self-love may not be for everyone. "I’m just doing what I do. To be honest, I only pay attention to the positive reaction," she told Yahoo! News. "I take responsibility for my decisions and once I make them, I've made them because I'm happy with them, so it doesn't matter to me."

Twain has used her opportunity to promote the album to talk about body confidence and to exhort individuals of all ages to accept who they are. After years of public body image struggles, it has been a particularly vital task for the singer. "I think as we get older especially, we do tend to get more shy or more critical of our bodies. Our skin starts to sag, it's just part of growing old," she said. "I plan on aging naturally ... So that also means being comfortable in your own skin and instead of hiding it, embracing it and enjoying it."
