The Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man author said, “I want you all just to remember that somebody cared more about you than himself and that I want you to care more about someone else than yourself." The visibly emotional father added, "I would defend your honor until I die." The words came after his wife of fifteen years shared how much she loves being with him and finds it hard to recall one special moment she shared with him. “It’s all been special and I just want to say, thank you for the man that you are, for the example that you are for our children,” said Marjorie.

“I was truly blessed. I told my father years ago that I was truly looking for a man that was like my father. Because I had an example in my house and I told him, ‘Daddy, I finally found him',” added his wife. Recalling it the actor couldn’t hold his tears back and he shared, he worked four full-time jobs only to make his kids believe they had somebody thinking about them. Harvey added that he wishes his kids do the same and give it all to someone in their life just as their father did for them.

The teary-eyed father said, “I’m not the person I used to be this is not about me anymore.” The proud family man added, “I love all of you, this is what it is for me. This is the greatest moment I ever had. I’m very proud to be your father,” to which the audience cheered and clapped in unison. Marjorie and Harvey tied the knot in 2007 after he had an ugly separation from his previous wife in 2005. The writer met the love of his life in a comedy club as she shared about it on another episode of the Steve Harvey Morning Show.

Harvey was performing and when Marjorie entered the space she thought to herself it would be the moment when the comedian turns her late arrival into a joke. But the comedian stood still on the stage as he gazed at her until everybody else turned to look at her. Things turned awkward with a long silence to which Harvey said, "I do not know who you are, but I am going to marry you one day." At first, it would pass on as a not-so-funny banter but little did she know he was very serious about it.
