Sylvester Stallone's marriage to Jennifer Flavin had a great beginning but with the passing of time, their relationship began to crumble. Flavin had lost any hope for reconciliation. However, Stallone shifted his focus to his marriage and family to change his wife's mind about whether or not they could be together for the rest of their lives. The couple gave their best to make their marriage work.
In 2022, the couple announced that they were separating as their marriage could not stand the test of time. But soon fans found out that the couple has made amends. Stallone, 76, posted a video on Instagram, of himself and Flavin, 54, with their dog, Winnie, on a boat. They sat with each other as Flaving rested her hand on her husband's thigh. The couple both smiled as Stallone joked it was his new way of walking Winnie.
Flavin's comment on the video, "I Love you forever" proved the couple was on their way to being their usual selves again after the separation. The post also revealed that the couple is in a much better place now.
Flavin and Stallone started dating in 1988, and they married in 1997. After 25 years of marriage, Flavin filed for divorce from Stallone last year. She told PEOPLE, "I'm sad to announce that after 25 years of marriage, I have filed for divorce from my husband Sylvester Stallone. While we will no longer be married, I will always cherish the more than 30-year relationship that we shared, and I know we are both committed to our beautiful daughters. I ask for privacy for our family as we amicably move forward."
Stallone and Flavin have daughters together; Scarlet, Sistine, and Sophia. They are 21, 25, and 26, respectively. Stallone also has a child from a previous relationship, his eldest son, Seargeoh, who he shares with his ex-wife, Sasha Czack.
Sources close to the couple revealed that Stallone had intentionally done things he knew would jeopardize his marriage, and Flavin could no longer put up with such behavior.
The couple lived separately for some time. However, in October 2022, a source close to the couple said they were giving their marriage another chance. Flavin had called off the divorce and the couple began working on the issues they were facing.
The couple realized they each had issues that made their marriage crumble. As a source told PEOPLE, "They have moved past many negative issues and are working hard to make their marriage work. They really don't want a divorce. They both agree that they have issues. There is no blame."
The source also said, "Jen is very happy. Sly is the love of her life. She was just frustrated and needed changes. She is getting those changes now."
The source added, "She loves that Sly is making an effort. She feels heard and appreciated." Now, the couple is seen together in several places.
Although Stallone regrets not spending enough time with his daughters when they were kids, now they spend plenty of time together. The entire family attended the Ralph Lauren SS23 show together last year. They were also photographed at the show after Sistine shared a video of her family getting ready to attend the event on TikTok.
Despite the ups and downs in Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin's marriage, the couple worked hard to make their marriage work and to have a loving family life.
